But back to Dave Grainy. The Chorus line reminds of Korea. Emphasis the conditional !

If I could have stayed Home.

As promised, I'm on a musical journey...reliving 70s and 80s Aussie music, with a little leeway either side. Here's the first installment..."The Angels" Check it out, if you don't know it...'No Secrets'

https://youtu.be/2AxRIa-KySc?list=RDMMGP6a-7MP91g

And a bit of modern, just because I like them...'A Gang of Youths'

https://youtu.be/eeBf79q90js

And...the second to last installment for this evening, The Seekers, 'Georgy Girl'. Way back in the mid 60s, and a song that I remember well.

https://youtu.be/wsIbfYEizLk

The last for the night: One of many Kiwis who had to go to Australia to get a hit.

Nice. Liked it. 178,000 views. Would be great live.

The original still rules, by a factor of ten: https://youtu.be/fX5USg8_1gA (140+ million views but who can see 77-year-old Clapton on top of his game live anymore?)

Life's to live! Live! Breathe. Relax. Enjoy. Animals teach us to focus on family, friends and avoid danger. Get what you need and get along with others. That said, some rock the boat, but they know capsizin' it means they're sunk. Some sink, let's swim! The sea's big, great, but has undercurrents.

Mahler: Symphony No. 4.
Ah, i love symphonies! Tchaikovsky & Beethoven, especially.

I recall from a Philosophy of Music class that Wittgenstein thought Mahler might exemplify the distinction between talent and genius. W recognized M's great talent and thought him a better conductor than composer. But he wasn't sure because of the incommensurability problem: how can one know whether to judge a work of art based on prevailing standards set in the past, or where society has changed such that asserted deficiencies are instead actually apt innovations, heralding in a new era? Aristotle himself said a man's life cannot be judged until a hundred years after his death: some interpreted this in terms of English consequentialism (time is needed to discern the effects it has had) but after Wittgenstein, A's statement has been re-interpreted to refer to the problem of how fast society is changing and whether a person's actions reflect greatness based on his time or a time that had already past but had not yet been recognized; to wit, a sliver/fraction/one part of the 'There's no transcendent perspective' problem, ie., we haven't a God's eye view to judge artwork.

The Mahler post has me playlisting a symphony for my Monday morning 1-hour drive to Jinju (Dvorak, or Mahler's 2nd, probably). Thanks for that.

Cheers Adel, That was great. I'm so focussed on Graham Bonnet with this song, I completely missed it.

To carry on... part 2 of my exploration into old Australian favorites:

 https://youtu.be/Jzt8kNoSLdY

# if you want to know what I look like add a few years and tats...that's what I look like right now. Nearly the spitting image of Mark Seymour, plus a few scars and far less talent.

Sorry, add a few more Kg as well...hairstyle's nearly the same.

Now that you know what I don't look like and can identify me in the street  ;D
... here's another from the 80s. And a cracker it is:
https://youtu.be/tSNxFGW09Mo

And the last for Saturday night...Bow River. A bit of Jimmy and Cold Chisel...

https://youtu.be/y2by810nulE

Sorry, one more. One of my all timers...
https://youtu.be/pWxJEIz7sSA

IMHO, one of the top 10-20 songs ever. But what do I know.

Sound's like you're doing well and have a healthier mop than myself. I must  take my barber's advice and start using that all day conditioner.
That said, the Hunners were quite a show live. Saw them on my 21'st birthday. The Old lion Hotel on Melbourne street North Adelaide, that brass section with heavy bass was really something.
Volume required!

Apparently Eddie Vedder covered it at one stage.

They were pretentious in a way. Very much inner city Melbourne types, but going for outer suburban cred with their flannelettes shirts and working class tude. It was very contrived but I enjoyed it nonetheless.  Great sound.

Always been a Graham Bonnet fan. I like his style and his 'cool' factor. Just a shame that his image was often at odds with his vocals...he was a rocker in a suit and tie. Some of his vocals when he fronted 'Rainbow' were great, but what you saw just didn't fit with the Richie Blackmore look.

This was cool though

The drummer in this band used to have an Australian Pub in Itaewon. I wonder if he's still in business. It was always a fickle market at best.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=3hxYDqhy2Vc

To this stay it still gets air time on the radio.
