PASSPORT, a musical tour-de-force under the aegis/direction of German saxophone maestro Klaus Doldinger, were - in the 1970s - essentially Europe's answer to Weather Report. They're still performing, and I saw them live at the Jarasum Jazz Festival here in 2015...a real treat, although Jarasum usually seriously delivers the goods anyway!

Holy shit. Just discovered Declan McKenna. Kid was 15 when he started writing his first album, solo and released at 17. New album comes out this August.

Nope, didn't see that part. But yes, Peter did re-join the band briefly as a 'guest' guitarist when the band was on tour in 1971. He did it as a favor to the band when one of their other guitarists disappeared and joined a religious cult mid-tour. Anyway, there can be no denying that Peter Green was the founder, front-man and principal songwriter of Fleetwood Mac (he even came up with the name) for the band's first three albums.  I refer to this as the 'real' Fleetwood Mac, way before Buckingham, Nicks etc. joined. He really put out some great music, well worth a listen:

I'm no musician: I can play the recorder, pluck at the ukulele, and even strum a few chords at a camp fire without immediately being booed out of the circle, but my actual knowledge of music theory is very much just from listening to stuff I enjoy.

Which is weird that I like Rick Beato's "What Makes This Song Great" series so much. He takes popular songs from the 90's and 2000's, and then breaks them down, examining percussion, riffs, lyrics, and all the other cool stuff that goes into a song. He goes pretty deep into technical stuff, but rarely loses my attention. If you play an instrument, it might be worth your while to check out a 15 minute episode or 2!
