Just got Kraftwerk's 1977, 79 and 81 classics; Trans Europe Express, The Man Machine and Computer World.

My bday is on the 25th and I'm seeing them on the 26th. It'll be really cool to see the proto-electronic band.

BOO YEAH

Extra points for naming the band that used the riff from this absolutely amazing song.....................

I think you should have posted the Coldplay song instead, and given bonus points for knowing where the sample came from  :P

Where did you get the tickets btw? I'd be down for watching some Kraftwerk!

My fave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IjJjDXalGrc

I love the comments on their videos - 'I've never seen Germans show so much emotion before' etc etc

The band [Coldplay] received permission from the electronic music German band Kraftwerk to use the main riff from its song "Computer Love", from its 1981 studio album Computer World, for "Talk", replacing Kraftwerk's synthesizers with guitars. In a track-by-track interview given by the band on X&Y, bassist Guy Berryman reported that in response to the band's request, Kraftwerk founding member Ralf Hütter "said something like, 'Yes, you can use it, and thank you very much for asking my permission, unlike that bastard Jay-Z'." [AMAZING QUOTE HAHAHA]

Interpark. I had a chance to see them in Toronto when I was 20-odd (12-13 years ago??) and I missed it, so this is a good chance to catch them.

Another criminally underrated performer...Read his life story to see just how decent a person he was...

Two vids: one with him at his Blues-Rock best; the other showcasing his astounding fretwork...!

John Cale (Velvet Underground) is coming June 9th to the DMZ Peace Train Festival.

10 000W for foreigners. Free reservations and you pay 10 at the door which gives you a 10 thou GC to the festival grounds, so it is KIND OF free. Grab a few beers with it and you're set to rock.
