Treating Diabetes in Korea
« on: March 26, 2012, 05:11:16 pm »
Just a quick post to see if anyone has any information about treatment of diabetes in SK?
I'm presuming that any medical insurance provided by a school won't cover treatment as it is a pre-existing condition, so in which case how much does medicine cost in Korea?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I think you should check before making an assumption like that. I would be shocked if it were true. Aside from that medicine and medical care in general here are very cheap especially if you are coming from America.

I had a friend with diabetes here, and I think he had to pay for his own insulin, but it wasn't that much. One thing he did mention was being surprised at how high his blood sugar levels were at times. He found that a lot of Korean food had much higher sugar levels than he would have thought.
