Korean song at a Noorebang???
« on: July 20, 2011, 10:53:19 am »
So this is purely just for fun but I was asked by a few teachers to sing a Korean song at a noorebang at our next teachers dinner and part of me really wants to do this...
Hahahaha... BUT i have no idea on whats an easy Korean song to sing that will go down with a bunch of 40 - 50 year olds.
Guess me just singing Korean should be too much of a shock for them to care about the song...
Any ideas on songs or views if this has happened to you before...

So far I have this...  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZNCHKqsPZc&feature=related

My personal favourite if you can find it at a Noraebang...

It's cute, fresh, fun and easy enough to sing I think :P

If they're older, go with trot songs, because they probably won't know the newer songs. I always sing those and they go over really well, even if I mangle the lyrics.

If you can read hangeul , this is a fairly simple song that everyone will know and will sing along with: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0DDdpEjblU It's by 박상철 and called 무조건.

Two others you can try are 어머나 by 장윤정 and 사랑의 배터리 by 홍진영, but they're newer and more like neo-trot if that's even a word, so I don't know how well the older crowd would know them. They're both ladies...I'm not as familiar with male trot singers. ^^

현빈 - 그남자... I'm pretty sure it will appeal to older and younger generations, since it's from one of the most popular Korean dramas, "Secret Garden," and I've sung it a few times myself and the song is slow enough to follow easily, save for about three lines of the song.

Though these aren't the best for older people, I personally like:

나는 나비 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F9kduqOK-Og&feature=fvst

and if you want something more challenging:

한을을 달리다 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJ15mEWg5zk
or

My current favourite 노래방 tune is "아줌마" by 태진아 - very easy lyrics, very easy to sing, and who can argue with the subject matter? You can't go wrong with an ode to the Ajumma!

http://pann.nate.com/video/210969272

Others which go down well, but are a little tricker to sing:

"고백" by 뜨거운 감자

I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but it's Noraebang (노래방) not Noorebang (누리방).

Also, I'm a big fan of 2NE1-아파 as it's slow enough for me to sing

I just took it as Noo - Re - bang... maybe its the South African pronunciation of it for me that makes me spell it like that...
Either way it gets the job done...

That is a good song coz it is slow and im sure most people know it...
Also http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lC4dyX-BssI&feature=grec_index is good...
Nagging by Seulong and IU
