Prezi works great once downloaded. Don't even try to show it directly from the website  :P

Bomb game was awesome- I liked that the pictures used are the same pictures used in the prezi! It's a great way to see if students remember what I showed them in the prezi.  I used it 3 times this week ^^

Indiana Jones: Adventures in Geography. Elementary School.
« Reply #161 on: July 24, 2011, 08:51:29 pm »
This is a Geography PPT that I created for my Summer Camp. It is for Elementary Low to Mid Level Students. The students learn about world geography while following the adventures of Indiana Jones. The students have a worksheet that they use in order to write down the key words in the presentation. They use it as a reference at the end of the presentation, where they get to go on their own adventure by playing a board game that i created.

The goal of the game:  The students have to read and speak english words and sentences on the board while trying to collect as many artifacts as they can.  The student that makes it to the end of the game with the most artifacts is the winner.

I have attached the worksheets, board game and materials for use in your classroom, should you choose to use it.
I have also incorporated the audio files for the PPT presentation.

I don't use this site very often and thought the PPT presentation had gotten attached. I am resubmitting it.

Hi, just want to add some contributions for Africa. I've stolen a bit from somewhere (maybe here, thanks!), but this is a day long worksheet, which has comprehension of videos, an essay, and listening to songs.

The source of these videos come from downloaded videos (google: "michael palin sahara bbc" , and "great wildlife clips 5-9 BBC the life of mammals")

For the Sahara extract, Ive used 5 mins of the 3rd episode (from about 30 mins in). My co-teacher has subtitled this in Korean, which I am attaching (see sahara.docx, youll have to change the extension type from .txt to .srt and then you have subs).

(PS this is probably my "hard day" in camp, just to warn you!)

Not all the audio for the PPT downloaded so I am adding the rest. This should be everything. I am only limited to about 10 attachments here.

The last piece of audio. There should be the intro audio, country audio (Egypt, Mexico, India and China) and the ending audio.

I've seen it in a few ppts:

"Africa is the second largest country in the world."

Africa is NOT a country! It is a CONTINENT. Not sure if that's just a typing error, or if you didn't know, but please make sure you fix it so the students don't carry on learning the wrong thing.

Thanks, that's all.
