모닝 케어 (Morning Care)
« on: May 27, 2011, 07:43:57 am »
Does it really help with hangovers? I just had a bottle based on my CT's recommendation. I guess time will tell.

My boyfriend drinks it right when going home after drinking so he doesn't have to worry about a hangover in the morning.  Just a tip for next time.  I think it tastes like dirt so I've only drank one bottle when I drank so much I couldn't taste anything.

Gatorade has always been a big help. Drink it before and after you go to sleep. Lot's of water too. The Gatorade replaces a lot of the salt that you pee away while you're drinking. Also in the morning Baccus D. It comes in those little bottle you see next to Vita C and little juice bottles. The Baccus D just gives you a little boost. Vitamin Water seems to help too. I've read actual research that says the only thing that really helps is Tylenol. But I think dehydration is a factor.

The same night after drinking, I down a bottle of morning care, a glass of water, and eat a snack before I go to bed.  The next morning I usually have one of those Vitamin drinks and a Pocari sweat or Gatorade.  I don't have really bad hangovers anymore; usually I'm just super tired.

However, I don't know how much of that I can attribute just to the Morning Care as opposed to the water + snack.  Regardless, I usually don't feel too bad :)

I usually go for Morning Care OR Dawn 808. I like to believe they work. I also recommend drinking it before bed or even before drinking....or is that only with "Condition"? Oh man, now I'm really confused.

There is no real cure to hangovers no special remedies or energy drinks or magical concotion. Time is your best friend. Hydrate yourself with liquids mostly water and eventually you will get better no differently than if you had a bunch of fancy drinks.

Ugh where was this yesterday?!? I find Pocari Sweat helps big time- down one before bed with some ibuprofin... but truth be told, honey actually helps breaks down the sugars in the alcohol so I eat some honey on a cracker too before I go to bed (when I can remember- lol)

It is all about your electrolytes.  Your hungover because your body is dehydrated.  Down a pitcher or water or a couple gatorades before going to sleep.  Have some coffee in the morning and you should be fine

Alcohol doesn't have sugars.  Alcohol is a compound (well a group, but the stuff you drink is ethanol, one specific compound).

alcohol may not have sugars but we tend to mix our alcohol with things that contain sugar - and beer does contain carbs/sugars

It works for me!  Doesn't completely get rid of the hangover, but it certainly makes it better than it could be.  My friend visited from England and was so impressed with it she took five bottles of it back with her!

Beer doesn't contain much in terms of sugar.  It has carbs, but carbs are not necessarily sugar.

And, so what if our drinks have sugar?  What does that have to do with the alcohol?

Furthermore, how does honey (primarily sugar) break down sugar?

sigh- this is the last post from me on this topic.... this is just getting annoying now..... honey contains fructose, a type of sugar that helps your body metabolize alcohol more quickly
