I often dream about...
« on: September 27, 2023, 02:28:57 pm »
I often dream about houses. They are usually quite nice but not over the top mansions or ostentatious. There are usually many rooms and several different levels, often just 2 or 3 steps up or down.

I have lived in many houses over the years, but one was especially nice.  It was a large 3 floor, 3000sq. ft. house on Porters Lake in NS Canada. Both the living rooms were sunken as in my dreams. It's the only connection I can think of as every other house I have lived in was normal and basic. My house now is a small but nice place, 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, about 1000 sq. ft.

I find it interesting that I regularly dream of living in nice houses. They are always very pleasant dreams too.

Does anyone have regular dreams of similar things.

I'm just trying to start a new topic where arguing doesn't take over. Don't people get tired of it?

So, you want to start a new topic in regards to people’s feelings on arguments here?  Ok. That’ll be more interesting than people talking about nice dreams.

I think most people see a lot of the back and forth on here as fun banter.  There are a few humorless types that get bent out of shape, but I consider it just the kind of shooting the shit that would take place on a night out with the boys.

I don’t think, outside of the U.S. politics (Trump) threads, there’s that much arguing going on here. Marti is acting out in most threads, but he’s got demons.  A lot of it people saying silly sh*t and people calling them out, often in a humorous vein.  There’s not any actual hate on this site.  Certainly there are some posters that are disliked, but things mostly stay fun here.  Hangook is unintentionally hilarious, but I don’t think anyone hates him or wishes him ill will. And I don’t think he wishes it on anyone else.  Only Marti seems truly angry. And that Adel guy in the Trump thread.

This is not a highbrow site.  People do provide useful information at times, but mostly it’s bored Korean hands killing time. It always surprises me when someone expresses disappointment at the banter on here. What are you hoping for?

What August said!

Not all threads spiral. Most of the spats are started or inflamed by just a couple of posters. Easy to ignore if you don't want to become involved. Also easy to have a bit of fun or just shoot the breeze with someone.

Anyway....reoccurri ng dreams! Yes, I have one. Had it for decades. Not sharing it though...far too unmanly

Also used to have one about a couple of tigers stalking me in my house (in NZ)...stopped having it when I stopped growing in my cellar. Apparently, it was stress related  ;D
Oh yeah, occasionally I dream about bulls chasing me in the streets. Had the same dream maybe half a dozen times over the last 10 years or so

To be fair, yourself, Marti and Hangkook have the most in common on that thread.  I'm sorry if it calling out your stupid shite made you angry.

Last dream I had recently was more a nightmare of a home invasion. I'm not sure why. Maybe it was related to a conversion I had with some-one a while back. It's statistically rather uncommon in our hood but something I'm concerned with regard s to my dear mom who lives alone, by choice.

Yeah, That's scary shit! Not the kind of dream to have lurking in the back of your mind.

I'm also dreaming about getting pissed tomorrow night...been some time. Just got my weekend supplies in. Tsingtao and San Miquel are the chosen suds for the long break.

I dream a lot about finding myself out in the middle of some wilderness somewhere (desert, forest, mountains, always different but always in the wild). I never know where I am but I also never feel lost, either. I just kind of accept the situation and start walking, and I'm often joined by people (never anyone I know irl) or wolves. We never talk to each other or even acknowledge each others' existences, but we're aware of each other, and we're not really walking with each other so much as they're coming along with me. We eventually come upon a small deserted town or a house in the middle of this wilderness, and that's when the people or the wolves go their separate ways.

The house or the town is always different, but they always feel familiar, and I'm always supposed to wait for something. One time I was supposed to wait for whatever was supposed to come out of a brewing storm, another time there was a dinner party where I was supposed to wait for someone, but yeah, I always just "know" that I'm supposed to wait so that I can either witness something or meet someone.

But I always wake up before I can see who or what that is.

It's super annoying.  >:(

My bad dreams usually involve a dog grabbing onto my hand and not letting go. Turns out either my hand is trapped under my pillow or my arm is trapped under my wife. Especially after long rides or weeks when I ride quite a bit, I dream of cycling.

Is everyone doing the “No, you” thing now?

Don’t fret over it.  I never went back and read the rest of the thread after I saw that instead of answering my legitimate question you were just getting worked up and calling me a Marti or something. I realized you weren’t able to have an adult conversation in regards to your Trump virtue signaling and happily moved on. No need to apologize, although I appreciate the effort.

You seem really caught up on this 'virtue signalling' thing. Are you sure you're not projecting?  Do you dream about it?

My 2nd car i bought on the day after my 19th birthday on a HSBC bank loan (the Hong Kong bank was new in Canada and readily dispersed loans), a used blue 1980-something Toyota Corolla, I having wrapped my dad's high school grad present Datsun around a pole on the way to a midnight supermarket renovation temp job early into my freshman year of college (the pothole lurched us off the road, into the path of the pole - whiplash and... headaches for years). Well, that 2nd car got me through a couple of years of undergrad, but the problem was terrible campus parking. In hindsight, i should have regularly parked in the residential neighborhood across the highway and spent an extra 5 minutes walking each way. Instead, I, like many others, prowled the campus lots daily for an open spot. There were six friggin' lots so i parked everywhere at one point or another. Of course, a few times i emerged from my classes and thought where tf is my car? One day i walked up a lot and stopped just short of a truck and turned, not realizing then that there was one more spot behind it by the overhanging tree. I took over an hour pacing around the lots before i returned to my first hunch and committed to going to the end to try to get an overview from the slight incline. Ah... there it was. Wash, rinse, repeat three or four times. Even 35 years later, i have nightmares about it.

Cats only bite those they play with, or are defending against.

The story smells of trolling but may reek of anti-feeding for street cats. K. That is a position. But own it please.

Orherwise, your dreaming over and over about cats biting you is harder to believe.

I am against feeding street cats, but I think the nightmares might come from my family history. My dad was a vet :undecided:

I had another dream of a house last night. Again, it was nice, huge and rambling through several levels and many many rooms. Odd....
