tight-lipped in relation to his whereabouts.

Again, WTF are they talking about? No foreigners are free to run around North Korea.

Dude, what are you talking about? That's standard journalistic phrasing. Journalists always use qualifiers until they have direct confirmation that something has happened.

Honestly, there's nothing here and the fact that you're trying to make an issue out of this says more about you than it does the writer. The Korea Times has done many bad things, this is not one of them. You'd find the same kind of phrasing for the incident in any mainstream news outlet.

It just seems to me NK is being painted as the bad guy here. It was Travis
that entered the country illegally.

Nobody's treating North Korea as the bad guy yet since we don't know whats happening with Travis King.

What are they supposed to write?

I honestly do not know why anyone here, would care all that much.  After all, the private is not on the  admiration level of some stupid basketball player who badmouthed her country, got caught with hash oil in Russia (knowing the laws but expected special treatment because of..well, you know), was thrown in jail while at the same time, nobody pandered to her and she realized she was not a tough gal and....

Given how Dennis Rodman was treated, maybe Kim Jong Un has anything for pothead basketball players.
