Beginning Tutoring

Hello, I've recently left my hagwon and am looking into going into tutoring, mostly conversational.

I know ever teacher might be different, and handle class differently. However, I'm wondering what is your process when you are talking to prospective students' mothers? Do you find a teaching/learning style for each student? Do you have a book already picked out? Do you pick curriculum with the mother? What is your initial process before beginning teaching your students?

I've been in the hagwon scene for about 8 years, and I'm not really sure where to start with the process of beginning to teach kids without having a hagwon pick books for me and what not?

What's your process?

Any help is welcome.

I assume you've already researched the legal minefield that is ESL entrepreneurship in Korea? It's not just a matter of having the right visa.
