However, their shared passion for baseball was overshadowed by a more sinister aspect of their relationship.

i had to think very long and hard if i wanted to read past this sentence, given some of the discourse about hangook that many (myself admittedly included) have been pushing recently. thankfully, your shaggy dog backstory went in a more normal direction

This is a little unnerving. I happened to pass through Jangsu last weekend and passed this strange rambling fella down by the water

This is uncannily accurate.

Way to go Billy! Still love walking past a smoker and sucking in the fumes.

Mine's just a freshly made dark roast brew.... espresso atm. 2 quick cup sets me up.
While I like the occasional dark roast, especially if I'm needing an eye-opener. Have you given city roast or even lighter a try? Really brings out the bean flavor.

Dark roast has less caffeine, so not exactly an "eye-opener."

There you go...I never knew that.

No, I've never tried a 'City Roast' Marti. I don't enjoy anything less than a medium roast, and even then, some medium roasts just don't have much flavour for some reason....kind of see-through and adding more grounds doesn't help.
Mind you, I'm no expert and I tend to stick with the tried and true rather than being adventurous.

Difference is negligible. The strong roast flavor profile certainly wakes you up though.

Give it a try. Some say dark roasts are like well-done steak and this is the general consensus amongst coffee aficionados and experts. I don't agree as I enjoy roasts across the spectrum. I'd only say that some lighter roasts with certain beans really bring out different flavors. Me personally, I'd equate it more to different kinds of chocolate or perhaps toasting bagels- some flavors a deeper browner toasting is good, others just a light toasting. Like you would toast a cinnamon raison bagel or a blueberry bagel or a pumpernickel or sesame or garlic all differently and maybe depending whether you were putting on butter or Nutella or cream cheese or a hot sandwich or a cold sandwich, etc.

I am almost midway on a 18 km walk to the next town (from 50,000 in pop. to about 6000 pop.). It's sunny and about 10 C. No sweat.
Help others, especially animals. Say what you think, be considerate of others. Appreciate more than deprecate. Teach well, jump on teachable moments. Enjoy Korea as it is, without changing it. Dwell! Yet, at times, change your life for the better. "The most important [thing] is to have a good day."

You know I'd only be bitter if this actually looked like me.  But don't worry Mr August, you'll always be a perfect "10" in your own mind and in the imaginary halls of waygook.  Maybe you can go to Jangsu and try to find me?  (Of course, you'll never find me.)

Am I supposed to read between the lines here, or did you straight up invite me down to Jangsu to find you?  That post was right along the lines "I bet you can't catch meeee"

I don't live there.  But go down and look if you wish.  (Since you seem to keep thinking I live there....)

I have no idea where you live and can't recall ever having expressed even a guess as to what town you're in, although I know a river runs through it.

No.  You do.  I don't know what the hell a jangsu is?  Is it a martial art or a noodle dish?
