Cool. Most I ever did was 50km. Man was I sore.
I was sore for a couple of days with that one. Hurt to walk.
There's barbeque like that all over China. I'm not sure why Zibo went viral. Xinjiang is way better for barbeque, but I wouldn't visit there again for any reason. A long time ago my now brother-in-law went to Zibo to meet some girl. Since then he has hated China.
What did the girl do to him?
Didn't exist by the sounds of it. I'm not totally clear. I've only met the guy a handful of times.
How far did he travel to get to Zibo?
From Canada.
I thought it was bad when I got stood up at a local bar in my younger years
A few years ago I had a colleague who was working on a tourist visa and leaving the country every two months to reset the clock. My school at the time was stupid and had him go to Hong Kong on the 59th day every time which is a huge red flag for Chinese immigration. If questioned on the way back, I told him to tell Chinese immigration that he got stood up at Hong Kong airport and was coming back to Shanghai to crash at my place and sort himself out before going back to America. I figured if the story was pitiful enough they would have to believe it.
Do immigration officials have a human side? What made your brother-in-law think flying to China was a good idea? How long had he been in contact with this woman?
How many kms do you clock up on a ride? All that stuff is definitely weighing you down. But if you're not riding for time then it doesn't really matter. Take it easy and enjoy at your own pace.
You ride a speed bike or MTB? I am guessing a speed bike (street bike)?
Sounds like a bad school if they wouldn't get him a proper Z visa. Some Korean schools did the same thing, didn't get folks an E2 Visa. Either that or forge the degrees for them to get a proper visa on fake credentials. Often had them work illegally to exploit them. Anyways, did they believe your friend?
