I demand Marty post an image generalizing Korean walkers in the bike paths.

Enjoying a cold fresh IPA after my daily 10km ride. I gotta say, I feel like a million bucks  ;D I might have taken out a few pets along the way, and I think I may have forced the old lady in the ambulance stuck behind me on a narrow one-way road to take a detour (to heaven), but hey! That's why the city needs more bike lanes! Some a**hole in a Kornado shouted "GET OFF THE ROAD!" so I blinded him with my dual wield headlights and caused him to crash into a car full of pregnant disable elderly soccer moms who suffer from chronic pain, but it was a gas-guzzling SUV with a trunk full of non-organic GMO groceries, so score one for the planet!

I'm thinking of installing a cow catcher on the front of my bike like the Mad Max War Rig! That'll show Fluffy and his owner who's boss!

Saffer, this isn't some niche opinion confined to me, this is like, a widespread phenomenon that A LOT of people are complaining about- entitled assh*le cyclists.

Proof please.
There is no known medical cure for stupidity!

That's just, like, sad man. Like, just own it. "Hell yeah it's part of my identity. Cycling is f*cking awesome and it's helped make me who I am!"

Marty has such low comprehension skills it it embarrassing. I NEVER said anything like this, I said I love it BUT it is not the most important thing in my life. IT DOES NOT DEFINE ME and you can deny this till you are blue in the face but of course it doesn't make it true. You see Marty, as I have said before, you don't know me but you make assumptions about me and you couldn't be further from the truth as any of my friends, family or co-workers can tell you. There are more important things in my life that define me.

Anyway, I am do arguing with you about this.

It's a "widespread phenomenon". There's a pandemic of "entitled asshole cyclists" because there just isn't any other "entitled asshole" subset on the roads.

If a lot of people here are complaining that one individual is an "irritating asshole". I guess that makes it a fact and not a niche opinion.

100% this. There are asshole cyclists on the road and anti-asshole cyclist blogs. There are asshole soccer moms on the road and anti-asshole soccer mom blogs. There are asshole truckers on the road and anti-asshole trucker blogs. At least cyclists don't take up much space and don't have the capacity to do much damage to anyone except themselves.

How do you guys keep letting yourselves get roped into the bullshit? He's not even doing a good job at hiding it this time.

Get back to talking about rich, unhappy Koreans.

My entitled asshole list of Koreans on the roads:

1) Taxi drivers. So many of them now have EVs with fast acceleration. Jesus Christ!
2) Delivery scooters. Not rich but willing to die young.
3) Grandeur/Genesis drivers. Too patriotic to get a BMW/Benz and drive like massive pricks.
4) Bus drivers. You can't swing that big vehicle around like a rally car and cross 3 lanes of traffic just because "bus!"
5) All other Korean car drivers. How the F@ck did they pass their driving test?
6) Cyclists.

As a member of the tacti-cool cyclevangelist elite, if anyone on the road is going to take me out, it's probably going to be a delivery driver. I try to give them a pass on general assholery because it's their job to deliver things quickly, and they're on the road so much that all of them are going to make mistakes some of the time, but they definitely have me looking over my shoulder every time I hear that little "beep." Seeing them race dangerously from point A to point B definitely caused me to rethink my takeout habits.

When I moved here I was so excited to be living near a bike path. Bought a bike and took that pink beast out. Came back stressed-out and annoyed. People walking on the bike path three wide (despite there being a walking path right next to it) and not moving, and some near high-speed collisions after I tried passing on the left, only to be met with cyclists zooming in the other direction. Even encountered a lone delivery scooter hauling ass on a straight stretch.

Buy an exercise bike and noise cancelling headphones. Enjoy.
Certain parts of the bike paths can be quite dodgy, especially at popular times. Once you get through them, though, it can fairly smooth sailing. I tried to ride in the morning or early afternoon and I loved cold weather because it meant far fewer people would be out.

Regarding the above post, yes, there are a bunch of usually younger Korean riders who are blasting away at 40kph or more with no regard for anyone else. I've heard they are putting up some type of deterrents for this. The club I rode with had a strict rule of never exceeding 30kph.

To add to this list, if you're driving and see the following cars, watch out:

1. Carnivals, especially those with a roof box. They're probably the biggest psychos on the road.
2. Rays driven by dozy ajummas. Whenever I see a Ray, I prepare for them to do something stupid.
3. Mornings - they're either driven by 초보s or nutters.
4. Any car with an old green license plate.

Richer because of inflation?  Richer because Samsung pushed up the GDP numbers?
I can see.  I can see.  I can see....

Dude, do a simple google search, like half the articles are cyclists bashing the mass behavior of other cyclists and pointing out that motorists are really hating cyclists. Or look at this 2.5 million view youtube video and the responses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55Wb8exPj3o

Like I said, it pretty much proves the point about cyclists, given your absolute obliviousness to the issue and refusal to admit there is a problem.

Dude, you race competitively. It's obviously A PART of your identity. And why are you acting like it's a bad thing? Like, people here are talking about how great cycling is and the second someone suggests it might be part of your identity, you scamper away from it. That's weak. Own it! Like I said, "Hell yeah it's part of my identity. A great part. I love it." Whatever you're trying to do here out of reflexive disagreement is just ridiculous.
