If adopted, according to the proposal, the city's education office will appoint an official tasked with policing teachers, investigating those found to have had sex out of wedlock and recommending punishment. There are still many lingering questions as to the role of the official.

The idea that some old fogey thinks he can police what grown adults legally do in their private lives is both hilarious and not at all surprising. Bets are everyone involved in drawing this thing up has done it, too, and according to the statistics at least half of them have cheated on their spouses. 

They should introduce a bill requiring legal reps to hover over these guys just to tell them how incredibly stupid they are BEFORE they can step out of line and embarrass themselves.

The Seoul Teachers' Union issued a statement criticizing the city council.

"The proposal goes against Korea's Constitution and doesn't deserve a review.
We insist the city discard the proposal immediately," according to the statement.

yeah they arent "under fire".  theyre being laughed at mercilessly.   made the Seoul City Council out to be a joke.  This person who drafted this will lose their job for sure...  or do one of those embarrassment suicides they love so much here.

Sexual conduct? Are they still moving teachers with sexual abuse/harassment allegations against students to another school?
