Our English center works alongside the Heongseong Seongnam elementary school to provide students with an extensive program, which is designed to enhance student learning and apply what they’re learning in everyday life. The use of our excellent supply of textbooks along with the additional supplementary material and activities plus amazing facilities ensures students receive the highest and best quality standards of education from our institution.
As part of our ongoing efforts to provide a high quality of service here at the Heongseong Seongnam elementary school and English Center, we are currently looking to hire a professional teacher from one of the following countries: USA, UK, Ireland ,Canada, South Africa, New Zealand, and Australia.
Whether you are a novice or an experienced teacher you will get the chance to work with a great pool of professionals here at Heongseong Seongnam elementary school. If you’re a novice; you will learn the skills and techniques required in your classrooms to make the lessons more interesting, fun, and engaging for the students. Contract period: March 1st 2023 - February 29th 2024
Working days/hours: Mon - Fri - 5 days. 09:00 - 17:00/40hrs per week
Teaching hours: 22 hrs per week
Class size: up to 10-12 students per class
Salary & Benefits
Salary: 2.2 - 2.5 million won + 100,000 won rural allowance (depending on
experience)
Entrance Allowance: 1.3 million (if flying to Korea)
Settlement allowance: 300,000 won (if already in Korea)
Contract Completion bonus: 1,300,000 won (paid after successfully completing contract)
Contract Renewal Allowance: 700,000 won (paid for renewing contract alongside contract
completion bonus)
Airfare support: provided
Accommodation: A studio apartment
Vacation: 26 days
Health Insurance: 50% covered by the employer.
National Pension: Paid. If you are an American you can claim it back at the end - depending
on the agreement your country has with South Korea.
Severance Payment: one month bonus at the end

Heongseong-gun
Located in the Gangwon province, bordering Gyeonggi-do discover this culturally rich, rural part of Korea just North of Wonju city. The Hoengseong-gun area is specifically known for it’s Hanwoo beef, an exquisitely fine high quality cut of beef in Korea, which is supplied to all the major metropolitan cities. It is commonly referred to as the home of Korean beef. Once a year a festival is held celebrating the eminence of Korean Hanwoo beef. The town also holds other major festivals throughout the year. The area had seen a lot of job creation and it has been quite prosperous since. The area consists of a number of lush green forests, both man made and natural. If you enjoy hiking, then the nearest national park is called Chiaksan.
Transportation links
Gangwon’s major coastal areas and beaches i.e. Gangneung, Yang Yang beach, Samcheok, Donghae and Sokcho are all accessible via bus for the weekend beach visits. There is an intercity bus connection to all major metropolitan cities, including Seoul. Wonju city has it’s own airport for internal domestic flights. So if you want to fly anyway, in particular to places like jeju island, that is an option available.
Access to Korea's KTX service as well as other train services can be done from Wonju, the nearest major city. Heongseong-gun itself has a train station with direct links to Seoul.
