Monthly salary of wage workers up 3.6%.

http://www.koreaherald.com/view.php?ud=20220401000002

The average monthly salary of wage earners rose 3.6 percent on-year in 2020 from a year earlier despite the COVID-19 pandemic, a government report showed.
South Korean wage workers earned a monthly average of 3.2 million won ($2,669) in December 2020, up from 3.09 million won a year earlier, according to the report from Statistics Korea.
The figure for workers with large companies stood at 5.29 million won, with those in smaller firms earning 2.59 million won.
The monthly pay for male wage workers gained 3.1 percent on-year to 3.71 million won in December 2020, 1.5 times the 2.47 million for female employees, which was up 4.7 percent from a year earlier. (Yonhap)

Not bad considering the rate of inflation in 2020 was 0.54. Good for those working for a living.

Wages are up in the US too, but inflation is eating into it.

Also home mortgages are going up, and the fed is raising interest rates.

2 millions illegal immigrants came into the country last year and now they are getting rid of title 42 which will increase it.
My previous job is filled to the brim with foreign workers.
Fortunately I have left for greener pastures and am set to make over 70 grand per year.
But I felt sorry for all the Americans who were stuck next to immigrants who couldn’t speak English.  Literally 10 out of 13 people in my department.
America has no culture and no history to preserve and pass on .
We are a place where the greedy come to make money.

hire lower-cost aliens to do your job then encourage you to blame the workers instead of them

true. illegal immigration is an issue, but its on the government to prevent it. its definitely unfair to get mad at the immigrants for taking advantage of the situation, in their place i'd do the same.

No.  America is a place where the greedy come to make money. That is true, but it can and is also true that the greedy hire them and bring them.  In fact I blame the people who hire them.
You create a straw man and act righteous. But you jump the gun.

If all we have to offer people is the chance to make higher wages then we are lost.  Because the immigrants do NOT want to be here, do not assimilate, and would rather be in their home countries.

The worst thing one can do is pretend that they are refugees instead of economic migrants and that they want to learn the culture.  The way people talk to them like little babies makes me sick.

I am not blaming them, but I what I am saying is that they are here for money.

This actually raises an interesting question: how do we measure assimilation, and do immigrants to the USA assimilate?

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, research shows that new immigrants to the States actually assimilate much faster than they did in previous generations.
Some interesting points regarding the American cultural melting-pot:

"One of the study’s most striking insights, Waters said, was just how powerful the assimilation process is in the United States. It works not just on immigrants, but on the rest of the population as well. One in seven marriages is across racial or ethnic lines, statistics show. According to one survey, 35 percent of Americans have close relatives of a different racial or ethnic group."
Meanwhile, as has long been the case, the country as a whole, in its customs and culture, changes under the influence of immigration.
“It’s really impressive how strong the force of integration is in America,” Waters said.

To "jump the gun" means to act before the appropriate time. I'm not certain what you are trying to convey here: the idiom doesn't seem to apply to Mr.C's comment at all.   :undecided:

When employers can no longer attract sufficient ESL teachers at current wages to fill demand, *or* when minimum wage is raised above what we earn. Whichever comes first.

Yes so, let me help you out since you deal mostly with grammar and less with concepts.
Jump the gun can be applied here because he is saying that I am blaming immigrants to the US, yet that is not entailed I what I said.
Furthermore, he is saying that I don’t blame employers and that I am somehow manipulated by them to attack immigrants.  He accused without evidence therefore he “jumped the gun”

It’s hilarious how we always have to go back to school of rock or bill nye the science guy.  Grow up.

Instead of reading what Harvard says which is all in favor of immigration.  They love selling degrees for a million dollars to rich Asians.  Why don’t you live and work around hundreds, maybe over a thousand immigrants and see how they are assimilating.
There are Vietnamese who are third generation still speak Vietnamese at home an identify as Vietnamese before American and manny Mexicans too.
South Koreans are returning to South Korea in droves after being born and growing up in the US, because South Korea is now a successful country.

I worked with immigrants: they love their own food and music and frankly they have a gripe with white people.  Most everyone I met have some story about how they are owed by whites because of colonialism.
Every Recent afghani was a commander of some kind, I don’t know how that is possible.   More likely they showed up at Kabul airport to see what was going on and hopped on a plane so Biden could get his photo op.

The European countries were colonialists.  America and Canada were colonies who broke free and gained their independence.  They weren't the colonizers.  Though I suppose they do have a few faw flung islands which for the most part couldn't really support themselves independently anyways.  Africa, the Middle East, Asia, Latin America was primarily colonized by the Europeans.

Let's compare:

Greedy corporations and bosses illegally hired over 2 million aliens last year.
My previous bosses laid off lots of workers and replaced them with foreign workers.
The idiots in personnel can't even bother to vet new hires for English proficiency.

See?  That's how you blame the bosses.

Calling BS on this part. Perhaps with Mexicans is true, since the source country is literally next door. But 3rd generation Vietnamese who still identify as more Vietnamese than American? Good luck trying to find full-blooded 3rd gen (thinking 3 gens all born in America) Vietnamese-Americans for one thing. And so what if they still speak Vietnamese at home, which I highly doubt after 3 generations. As long as they are native in English.

As for Koreans going back to Korea, again so what. Why are you in Korea (or were)? Does that make you less loyal?

I don't think there are that many returnees. From my understanding there over 500,000 F-4 holders, and maybe 20% are from USA, or Canada.

I don’t blame them for wanting to come here, I would.  Obviously the government and employers need to be punished and the illegals deported.
The illegals?? Yes I blame them as well.  They are all liars, saying they are refugees when they are economic migrants and I would deport the guy I worked next to personally in a minute. They also make it worse for the ones who came legally.
1.7 million!!! Last year alone.  That’s a huge freaking city.

I blame low wages on illegal immigrants, but I also blame employers.
When you have this administration flying them across the country and giving them iPhones, prepaid for a year, costing taxpayers 450 million dollars.  It’s outrageous.
