What's GOE? Is that your province? Your provincial office or co ordinator should have all that stuff. Did you ask them or the provincial supervisor for a transfer to another school or town? Within the same province you don't have to reapply. You are using the same immigration office? Not sure what you mean by reapply? You live in one town and asked your POE for another town or another school or schools? Same employer. Your POE should be keeping those documents on file. Does your school not know how to contact your former co-teacher? Did she transfer to another school? Get them to call her or use that cool messenger app to ask her what she did with your documents? I am still unsure why she was keeping them instead of the POE. Anyways, you may have to get on your school and nag them if they are being lazy and dragging your feet. One thing you learn in Asia is to be assertive and stick up for yourself. Hinting and politely asking often doesn't work and gets you ignored.
The short answer to what you have asked is, no.If you are extending your visa then you must already have your next contract in hand (it is impossible to do it without it). Therefore, it is solely an immigration issue. With that in mind you need the following:a. Application form for Walk-in application → (통합신청서)b. Signed contract (copy and original)c. Passport (copy and original)d. ARC (copy and original)e. Fee: 50,000 wonf. School business license copyg. School registration copyh. Your work schedulei. School class chart(어학원 현황표)j. School housing contract (if you have your own place then need to bring yours)k. Confirmation of Residence/Accommodation → Download the forml. Labor Income Withholding Receipt(근로소득원천징수)Just speak to 1345 and see if this is right, or attempt to login to HiKorea. As I remember, the only 'original' document you give is the criminal record check. No one should have the original copy of your degree except you.Good luck!
GOE is the name of my province's office of education. I am teaching in Gyeongsangnam-do! In my province, if you want to move to a new city they do require us to re-apply unfortunately even though we will be staying with the same office of education. I contacted the coordinator at GOE and was told I would have to get those documents from my school. I also did have my school contact my previous handler and even spoke with her myself but she just said she completely lost the files. At first, she tried to say she gave it to a couple different teachers at the school but they said she never did. I have no idea why she had the documents at all either. This whole situation has just been a mess.
In my province, I asked to change cities and they moved me when the next opening came up. But now they are trying to move folks every few years. Making you reapply to move? That just shows how much they respect you and how arrogant that they are making you jump unnecessarily through hoops. All in exchange for stagnant pay and more stupid micromanagement rules added into the contracts. I seriously hope once covid is done, your province loses all of it's teachers and that they can't get anyone to work for them. They deserve that if they are going to treat you that badly.
