Classic ageism

From Craiglist

Quote
We have classes from 10:30(in the morning) to 2 on Wednesdays(fixed) and 6 to 9 in the evening on Tuesdays, Mondays or Wed in Korean time on Zoom(Let's discuss which day will be). If your schedule is not flexible, you can choose one.
Our classes are all the years, every 3 months, new classes start with the previous and new students
We prefer teachers below 50 years old so can handle Zoom so well and quickly.

At least they're upfront about their bigotry.

If someone posts about wanting only white teachers everyone attacks them, but if they say female only the same people defend them. Racism bad, sexism no biggie.

Teacher must be a thin, blonde-hair, blue-eyed, Canadian or American female between the ages of 20-25.

Send pics with resume.

Also, we want an experienced teacher, preferably with teaching experience in your home country at the university level.

2.1 but lunches of kimchi and rice are free.

The absurd thing is, some 60-70 year olds are fitter and more energetic than some 20 year olds.

I don't think they misspelled Zumba, where fitness might be relevant, but actually meant Zoom, the technological application.

Still, it is absurd.

It's outrageous that employers still get away with petty ageism like that, especially given the demographics. or maybe its just ageism against foreigners that gets ignored.

Imagine this going to court?

Quote
Employer: But older people will be slower to use zoom!
Plaintiff: But I'm 65, work out every day and can move the mouse faster than that lethargic 25 year old over there.
Employer: its not my fault, its the parents. they want to see young faces. I'm just running a business.
Prosecutor: Have you actually conducted a survey of parental opinion? or even of the students opinion?
Employer: No. I'm just assuming everyone thinks like that because I do.
Prosecutor: have you noticed that the students in some cases learn better from older teachers?
Employer: No, I never go in the classroom or observe their classes. I have no objective means of gauging employee performance.

Well they are more obsessed with human rights nowadays.  But those 50 year olds get pressured to leave Samsung unless they became a top manager didn't they?
745sticky, Augustiner, Bakeacake, D.L.Orean, Lazio, Mithras, Renma, Rye are still blocked and I can't see them.
