The only thing I fear is fear itself!

Well, that and Vanny behind the wheel of a Korando.

I stand by my questioning of the two specific quotes by CO2 i cited in my previous posts.

CO2's other point he is hammering home now is different. If that is his main point then he needs no psycho killer woman theory or "creepos" walking the streets.

I'll leave this discussion to others now. G'day.
Help others, especially animals. Say what you think, be considerate of others. Appreciate more than deprecate. Teach well, jump on teachable moments. Enjoy Korea as it is, without changing it. Dwell! You fear strangers in villages more than you trust them? If so, k. Own it. Many do. It is the right wing narrative in U.S. media
Uhm, the idea that a young, single, attractive woman should be afraid of strangers is not some radical right-wing narrative. It's basically what every young, single, attractive woman is taught in every country both through government awareness and through practical experience.

Quote
We know from murder stats galore that indeed most people are killed by people they know than by strangers... though most deaths are by: 1. heart attack (a lifestyle disease), 2.cancer and 3. stroke (a mostly lifestyle disease). Erase an 80% chance of your death by researching (science please) the three leading causes.

Being killed by a psycho stranger - especially a "lady" as CO2 describes - is statistically small.
Those chances increase dramatically if you do certain things- i.e. deal drugs on the street, take a trip to Kandahar, roll through Cartel territory in an expensive car,  give out your home address as a young, attractive single woman, etc.

Most people aren't victims of death by strangers because they tend to avoid doing certain moronic acts that lead to death by stranger, not because certain acts perceived as dangerous are actually safe.

Quote
Villages the world over are 99% safe I'd wager;
I think any country that currently has people with refugee status/sustained conflict is probably no 99% safe. So, of the top of my head...Ukraine, Afghanistan, Burma, Syria, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Venezuela, Cartel territory, swaths of Nigeria, Congo, Libya, Syria, Yemen and I'm guessing certain neighborhoods and villages in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Lebanon, Sudan and Somalia.

We forgot to address it, I guess.

Unlike that woman in the Wayg group.

Basically, what CO2 is saying, is that this lady, a psycho killer of a lady, is trying to lure people to her lair by giving out her home address so that she can kill them.

But, both Van and I think that it's more likely she is just friendly and has a pantry full of snacks and a cupboard full of board games and wants to just have fun with new people.  Or, as that cynic CO2 calls new people, strangers.  CO2 is just peddling his right wing fear mongering.

Actually, I had merely forgotten to include a comma.

Enjoy being dismembered by a serial killer, lady. (The lady being Viet OP)

Don't give out your blody home address to tens of thousands of strangers. There's ZERO justification for it. Even random youtubers with a mere hundreds of thousands of subs use PO boxes for fan mail.

Giving it out to 40 000 people is BAD.

There's NO GOOD REASON to give YOUR HOME ADDRESS out on a PUBLIC WEB FORUM.

Holy shit. Can I be any clearer? There's ZERO REASON.

I didn't say don't meet people, or that strangers are dangerous. DON'T GIVE YOUR ADDRESS OUT TO TENS OF THOUSANDS OF RANDOM PEOPLE.

FFS, you were a journalist but your reading comprehension is ZERO.  You can believe that people are generally good and go out for casual dinners and still think that giving YOUR HOME ADDRESS out to STRANGERS in the TENS OF THOUSANDS is a bad idea.

This thread does nothing for me but bring to mind the classic adage "If you can't handle me at my joke, then you don't DESERVE me at my hyperbole!"

(Not to be confused with 'If you can't handle me at my Bolsonaro, then you don't DESERVE me at my Lukashenko!' of course.)

(Irony here in terms of who's standing behind closed doors.)

Don't freak out but there used to be this publication delivered to millions that had your name, phone number and home address! It was called a phone book.

I want to keep my students on their toes.

But they don't include... "I'm a single woman living by myself. Please come to my house..."
What he said. Nor do they include your face and image, nor a possible link to your social media from which someone can deduce your living patterns and points of access.

If you want to look at what the internet is capable of, look at how weaponized autism was able to hound Shia LaBeouf in 2017 chasing him from New York to New Mexico to Tennessee to England to France and finally assaulting some remote cabin of his in Finland.

Yeah, no one is going to say "R Hawthorne. Let's stalk that guy."

If they know what you look like then they've seen you in real life and they can murder you. IT's not common, but it's already too late.

Other things that clearly aren't dangerous:
-Giving out your address and inviting everyone over to check out your grow-op
-Livestreaming your cash-in-transit deliveries
-Geo-locating your ammo dump in Ukraine on Instagram
-Using 12345 as your PIN
