veterinarian costs

Does anyone know what vet costs are for a cat or dog in Korea? like for standard medical exams etc

Ive researched a bit but I want any personal experiences with vets in korea etc

I spayed my dog after 8 months, cost was about 270,000 in 2011.   shes 12 now and has only ever needed some shots, which were about 30. pretty lucky so far.   but shes getting up there

Thanks. I recently got a cat and took her to the vet yesterday. It was about 70,000 for one shot, flea and tick topical treatment, nail clipping (don't think they charged for that though), some meds for possible parasites.....was told she needed to come back in 3 weeks for another shot.....she is about 6 months old so we are starting out at 0.

I've had a few dogs here in Korea.
One was a dachshund rescue that we found in a rubbish heap. She had allllll sorts of medical issues, mostly stemming from long term neglect and old age she passed away at around 16 years of age, according to the vet's best guess. Anyway, the costs for her treatments were ridiculously low compared to what they would have been in North America or Europe. A lot of that is probably due to the pervasive use of generic medications whenever possible. Things like x-rays etc were also very affordable.

Insofar as the quality of care, it varies immensely depending on who you get.
We've "tried" out 4 or 5 different veterinarians before settling on one we thought took the best care of our animals. Her English isn't great, but her evaluations have always been very frank and to the point which we appreciated, and she genuinely seemed to like her patients, which we also appreciated.
