I read a post from a foreigner about an experience he had then read the gorilla cries of sweeping generalizations and opinions stated as facts.

Sure it's a forum, but that's where stupidity starts.
You'll need to be a little more specific about the posts with 'opinions stated as facts' that you have an issue with or else you'll come across as one that's also guilty of sweeping generalizations.  Unfortunately this forum is one that is frequented by some who tend to trivialise serious issues so unless you wish to do likewise you need to lead by example.

Guess you'll have to tell me champ.
Since I don't frequent starbucks, I can't tell you. I figured since you've posted about your starbucks experiences, you would know.

When I first went to Korea in September 2005 I saw men smacking women around every day. Including my co teacher who slapped on the back - really hard -  a girl in a Karaoke place because she didn't want to dance.

I've told this story three times before online elsewhere:

In 2003 I was walking past a side street in Busan when two men were punching and kicking each other, then saw me, they stopped.... they bowed and said something (i was too much a newbie and overwhelmed)... and then I continued walking past, less than a minute past when i heard the sounds of a scuffle, their battle restarted.

I could cite an equivalent encounter a year later that involved a couple, but she didn't do well... and it resulted in me subsequently twice taking a guy to the police, once as the hero, once as the offender (villain; the guy was a nephew or cousin of the police chief in town).
