I'm confident that if you took all the time and effort you've spent bitching about more money for position requiring an entry level bachelors degree over 15 damn years, you'd have a damn PHD by now and would be earning big bucks at some cushy university gig.

I arrived in 2014 and I, like many of us, spent the first year or two blowing money like a fool (no my parents weren't rich, I had expensive hobbies and liked travelling). It took 2yrs and a good woman by my side to get my head straight and think smarter with my money. 2yrs and I consider that long. After 15yrs it's not Korea's fault that you STILL haven't got your financial sh*t together and you studied business?!

The reason you keep getting renewed is that you're a predictable element in the education system. There's value in being predictable and there's some value to you, but not so much that you can't be easily replaced if you become anything more than mildly annoying to your school and/or POE.

If you're not willing to be at peace with this arrangement then improving your qualifications is the next logical step.

With better qualifications, you can demand more money.
Without qualifications, you can beg for more money.

It is only the most miserable underachievers that find themselves trapped by their inability to accept responsibility for their own poor choices and spend all day criticising/blaming others.

Not sure why I never saw this until now.  But I am not often on here.  Some of us choose to repay our student loans or at least back then we could when the pay was better.  A newbie in Korea today with the lower pay, good luck with that.  Took all my money for a long time.  If you defaulted on your debts or had rich parents pay your schooling, good for you, but don't be ignorant about it.  Besides getting a masters or phd doesn't actually earn most people more money here anyhow.  Lots of 2 to 3 million won'ers working in "universities" here.  Hardly worth the time and expense.  Working the same positions that folks with Bachelors degrees could work in yesteryear.  Pay and work conditions don't reflect your "higher education"  Korea doesn't care about your higher education or you Korean fluency.  If they did, the pay scales would reflect it.  Most foreigners are not on par with a Korean professor who made several million won a month after getting some experience and tenure. 

No one is saying America is exactly like North Korea today or Cuba or Venezuela.  But it is definitely going in that direction.   You had to have Venezuela take a turn in the 1970's and 1980's to make it ripe for what was to come later.  You had to have Cuba go more in that direction in the 1930's to make it ripe for a later take over.  Creeping Communism and control.  If you went against their official ideology or politically correct talk, you would be cancelled quite literally as you could disappear once these regimes took over.

As for cancelling, desantis has effectively cancelled thousands of history teachers. From your post above, it's clear that you could use a history lesson or three.

I'd say more like 1992.  Ross Perot was dismissed as a loon saying trade deals would kill jobs.  But it turned out he was right.  First the jobs went to Mexico and then to China.  A dot com bubble and then later a housing bubble covered that up or masked some of the effects.  But since the 2008 recession, it's been nothing but shit because a lot of the good paying jobs were sent overseas and no one except Trump actually wanted to do anything about it.  (Maybe Pat Buchanan was against bad trade deals too?)

The corporations are becoming too big to fail and too many are becoming monopolistic.  Many need to be broken up to allow for more competition again.  Corporatism does not equal capitalism.  Share buybacks and free printed money from the Fed does not equal innovation and competition.  The current system has become garbage but neither do I want to go to the opposite extreme and live under Communism and total government control and ownership.  (You will own nothing and be happy...  Does that sound familiar?)
