There are already many coronaviruses. They exist in nature.

My cousin caught COVID-19. Didnít feel anything. Didnít even know he had it. Because he was healthy. The best defense against this virus is to have a strong immune system (which most people canít be bothered to do). Most are unable to not be overweight. Most people dying are old AND overweight. And vitamin D deficient.

Whoís the worldís leading virology expert? Dr. Fauci. He doesnít subscribe to the lab theory. He thinks itís unlikely. Best to believe him.

L I please remember many people in the world don't have the resources to live like you say. Millions are living from hand to mouth and can't afford the healthy diet which we should all stick to. Perhaps in 1st world countries you theories are true but most of the world is not 1st world. For many people in the Philippines, for example, the only way to survive is on dried salty fish and white rice, not a healthy diet so naturally more are going to get the virus there.

I think you have a very narrow view about this or shall I say a 1st World view.

Poor Filipinos should work harder (more money).

And invent great companies like Mark Zuckerberg (a famous billionaire).

The number of Philippines COVID deaths is below the world average.

Europe and the US were hit the hardest.

A LOT of Philippines people I met arenít very health conscious. Iíd say most. For example, drinking soda. Water would be cheaper. Maybe itís a lack of education on these matters. But maybe they are healthy in other ways. A lot of the Philippines has fresh air and people get exercise working in fields.

confusedsaffer, you're constantly saying how great things are in the Philippines, especially compared to Korea and China. You cite friendly, laid-back locals, cheap housing, and all that.

Have you ever stopped to think that there might be a connection between those things and them subsisting on poor diets and not having access to basic necessities? You ever stop to think that maybe its because Koreans worked and worked and focused on economics and such that they are able to NOT subsist on salted fish and rice? You ever stop to think that there might be a link between the incredibly low cost of building and buying a house and the fact that some people are subsisting on fish and rice?

I know the Philippines is great FOR YOU as someone who gets the benefits of that cheap labor and economic desperation, but has it really worked for the Filipinos? Perhaps, because in surveys they come out as "happy". I don't know but it starts treading dangerously close to "simple native island folk" tropes.

My aunt got it and she didn't feel a thing and she's overweight, close to 70, doesn't eat healthily and complains if she has to walk more than 30m... so that's your theory out.
I happen to believe that a strong immune system is one of your best defences, but it's NOT a guarantee.

Either way, that is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT to the origin of the virus.

Coronaviruses exist in nature, correct, but... "The fact that it shows up in Wuhan and immediately spreads tells us that this virus is well-adapted to our cells and well adapted to transmit between individuals... one way you could get there is if somebody added components to a virus to increase it's transmissibility between humans. The research in question could be research that is interested to see what a bat-born virus infectious to humans would be like etc." Professor Bret Weinstein, evolutionary biologist.

These experiments are called 'Gain of Function' experiments and virologists perform them all the time. So, you're telling me it's completely impossible that a virus this transmittable just happens to occur in Wuhan, from Chinese main virology lab... and when an independent investigation is called for, the CCP destroys all evidence, censors what is out there and doesn't allows anyone in to investigate.

Evidence strongly suggests that it leaked out the lab, probably accidently or as a result of negligence, and the CCP is doing everything it can to hide this so they wont be held responsible.

I'm not sure what lies you're spouting, but Dr Fauci is in hot water with the CCP for saying that it could have originated in the lab and there's insuficicient proof to convince him that it's purely natural. We can also expect him to be very guarded with his words and accusations.

At a virtual event titled ĎUnited Facts of America: A Festival of Fact-Checkingí, Fauci was asked whether he was fully convinced with the theory that the virus ďdeveloped naturally.

"I am not convinced about that, I think we should continue to investigate what went on in China until we continue to find out to the best of our ability what happened," Fauci said. "Certainly, the people who investigated it say it likely was the emergence from an animal reservoir that then infected individuals, but it could have been something else, and we need to find that out. So, you know, that's the reason why I said I'm perfectly in favor of any investigation that looks into the origin of the virus." Dr Fauci

DM, this is a new low in derail even for you. What on earth has your comment got to do with the fact that people in the Philippines (by the way which was only an example, I could have chosen many other countries) are not able to live the lifestyle that L I is telling us all to live? He goes on about healthy diet, getting regular exercise etc, etc and I am saying that sure you can do that in 1st World Countries BUT for less developed nations and there are many, it is not feasible.

I made no comparison to your beloved Korea or China, just said we must be realistic that most of the world can't live like L I and his cousin and therefore the mortality rate in those countries, young and old are going to be much higher than rich countries by default.

Philippines people load up on white rice at buffet restaurants where the options are many. They love the taste of it because thatís what they grew up eating. A lot of what they eat is by choice. And the choices arenít always the best. Same with Americans and people pretty much everywhere on earth.

COVID-19 ainít that dangerous. The odds of dying from it are very slim.

Most Africans arenít dying from COVID-19 either. South Africans are by far the hardest hit there and they are by far the fattest. 70% of Saffer women are overweight.

Ding, wrong answer. They are forced to eat that diet because that is all they can afford. Until you have lived in the Philippines, L I, you cannot make comments like that and expect us to believe it.  You are out of touch with reality, the only filipinos you have met are the OFW'S (overseas foreign workers) and they are NOT  a true representation of the Philippine population.

Kind of like why China keeps those wet markets open. About half of China's population really can't afford to buy their food at super markets.

I have experience in the Philippines... but not in the very poorest areas (like where your wife came from). Some people in the Philippines are hard working. Some are lazy. Some are crabs in the bucket, back stabbers, and thieves. Some are good and honest people. Everywhere in the country.

I feel sorry for people in the Philippines overall. They have a hard life. Teenage pregnancy to single mothers is common. The education system isnít great. Infrastructure like fast paved roads is lacking. The Internet is super slow and often stops working. Thereís a lot to overcome.
