Jeju island has bananas now, yes. That has brought down the price a bit (I think). Still the most expensive of any country listed though. ㅠㅠ

Due to global warming, Korea farmers are able to grow bananas in Korea, not only on Jeju, but elsewhere, too.

Don't drink coffee and never have so not sure how prices compare to elsewhere.  I use bananas everyday in my smoothies, and I have never thought twice about the price.  If they are more expensive it's still not anything that'll break the bank.  Also, since I keep them in the fridge I no longer have to throw out most of the bunch after two days and the arrival of fruit flies.  That makes a difference in value.
