Very Experienced - Looking for Rural Hagwon Work
« on: November 05, 2020, 06:08:18 pm »
Hello,

Iím a British citizen with eight years of experience teaching in Korea. Iím currently studying Korean in Daegu, but Iím looking to teach at a hagwon in the Suncheon area or in Gimhae. Iím willing to consider other small cities or rural areas if the working conditions are very good.

My preferences are:

1. Afternoon/evening shift.

2. Housing allowance, not provided housing.

3. Iíd prefer not to teach kindergarten, but a small amount of kindergarten teaching would be OK.

4. Reasonable working hours.

I can be reached at jshtchr (at) fastmail.com

Thank you!

Jlp is hiring for February intake, if you want real rural you can get a 200 a month bonus. Housing may be able to get allowance. Just a suggestion. If you do apply I recommend Canadian connections

Coincidentally, I contacted JLP this weekend.

I've worked for them before. It's a nice province and the education office treats the teachers well. The Canadian co-ordinator is a good guy, too.

It's currently only possible to apply via EPIK due to Covid-19. That requires a lot of extra paperwork, but it's probably my best option.

They hiring again?  Do they just use EPIK temporarily?  Back to recruiters in the future?  I use to visit Gokseong and Suncheon and Yeosu and some other places years ago.  Nice spots.  Not sure what the housing is like in the more rural places.  Maybe if you are willing to pay deposit or some higher rent you can get a sweet pad??  Places prob cheap though could be shortages too?
