If they try to force a nomination through before the election then a President Biden and the new Democratic Senate Majority will just expand the Supreme Court.

Except, Trump has those voters already. They are his diehards. He isn't expanding his base. Biden has already got back the moderates and independents that Hillary lost.

Trump's a dictator so we need to win in order to have President Biden pack the courts with judges that will agree with us isn't the most consistent of arguments.

If Dems introduce legislation to expand the courts and have a vote on it, how is that dictatorial?

Politics is dirty. This election might show that Dems get nowhere by playing nice and fair.

You mean if Parliament rubber stamps the President and rams through legislation to give him full monopoly over the courts and uniparty/total control over the government, as has been done by numerous authoritarian regimes in the past, how is that dictatorial? Are you serious?

Would you say the same thing if Republicans just rammed through legislation to pack the courts? No, you'd be howling about Trump the dictator and rightfully so.

All you can see is "My side good." Are you even constitutionally capable of applying your same thought process to those that your oppose?

Pelosi is shooting her mouth off about impeachment again. Why don't the democrats get someone who is electable to be their leader? Trump will win in November and once again the democrats will only have themselves to blame.

Is President Moon’s government undemocratic because they have a big majority in the National Assembly?

Are they attempting to pack the courts by adding additional justices, all of which will be approved by them, so their legislation gets rubber stamped in the courts and they wield a permanent majority?

The courts do not rubber stamp anything. There is precedent.

Precedent can be found either way. If not, then find a "penumbra" that lets you rule as you want to.

If you seriously believe that judges are impartial referees and analyzers of the law, I have a bridge to sell you.

The real tragedy was my twitter feed this weekend. Blue checkmark liberals handled the news about as well as they usually do (which is to say terribly and with much cringe)

Apparently Trump plans to nominate a woman. Fairly predictable move, I can't wait for the inevitable claims that anyone opposing his pick is a "hypocritical sexist" or however he wants to put it

When Trump gets his pick nominated that will give a 6-3 Republican majority on the SCOTUS, all tending towards younger in age. That will change things in a big way. I would look forward to seeing Roe vs Wade overturned for starters. Rights of minorities and workers over turned or lessened. yadda yadda yadda
