  Well, after >20 years at my university, today is my last day of teaching in Korea - retirement looms and who knows what will happen in the future...

My plans for travel and personal endeavours following this cessation of my lengthy teaching tenure here have been scattered to perdition by the bullshit CCP virus plandemic...!

However, I have a few options to consider, so will take some time to contemplate these; in a few hours tho', when I'm done all final grading, I'm off to my local watering hole to pound a pint or three...!

Wow, more than 20 years! A huge congratulations your way for crossing that river: hopefully it'll treat you as well as it did Caesar!

Were you let go due to downsizing? (Related to corona?) Or age? Best wishes for deciding what to do next. A big wonderful world awaits.

I dunno and I’m curious because he often posted about how his job and life in Korea is wonderful so I’m leaning towards let go.

Sorry to rain on your glee parade:  I have reached official Korean uni retirement age and shall end my sojourn with honour and dignity (and a decent) lump sum pension..).

Are NETs not allowed to work at unis past a certain age? I heard something like this in EPIK - I think 62? So official retirement age is 62 for EPIK I think. For unis 64? (I heard something like this; not sure of the exact age limit; am curious to find out.)

Good luck for the future, you can teach in Taiwan if you want to continue to teach, there is no age limit here. I am 67 and just signed on for another year.

I'm in my 24th year here and plan to retire in 2029.  Being a visible
minority has taught me many things.  Foremost of which is racism
is an ugly thing.  The virus in question is called SARS-CoV-2.
