Relax at home / start packing and cleaning, thanks to the potential layoffs in JLP

Have they cut your contract?  I know where I am they aren't hiring new folks in Sept.  So, we got more schools but have many days of desk warming and cancelled classes.

Nah, they didn't - originally they were going to axe around 200 / 300 or so of the August hires - but based on what we were told, a crazy amount of Korean teachers at schools in the province called to complain about potentially losing their NET, so they decided to just not replace people who leave. Schools can choose not to rehire the NET too; They are also not doing transfers either.

My province also is not hiring new people second semester but my schools had to give up some teaching hours to share with other schools.  So, some of us had our schools changed outright.  Some of us kept our schools with less hours and got another school added.  I was 3 schools before and am now 4.  One day with 5 classes at school  number 4.   But still 22 hours a week.

Interestingly, my province have replaced the August intake people that have decided to leave. I'm was pretty surprised about that. I wondering what will happen to the March people.

They may have been able to hire people already in Korea.  Maybe some hakwons?  Of maybe they brought folks in and quarantined them in hotels for 14 days?  Mine didn't bother trying.  Hence the extra schools we all got assigned.  I was at 3, so now 4.  Sadly, no increase in multiple school allowance.  (Though only going to one school and living next door would save you the need for a used car instead of travelling all over the place.)

Not sure of the details, but I do know that at least some teachers were replaced. If they are brand new coming into ICN in August, I'm not sure about. Haven't meet them just saw new names on a list, and one of my friends have actually met a few of them.

As for multiple school allowance, I think you max out at like 150,000. 1 extra school 100,000, any other extra school the payment gets bumped up to 150,000. There also the extra rural fee if you work in a 'gun'.
