It is now labor law to require everyone get 26 days per year, some MOEs did that with renewal bonus days before it was required for 1st year contracts as well.
I read through the job benefits, etc. for Gyeongsangdo and it says there are 18 vacation days. This is from their website.I thought all MOEs were now doing 26 days vacation. Can anyone provide some info about this? Thanks.
If that’s true then is this illegal?:https://www.waygook.org/index.php?topic=119935.msg825164;topicseen#newThree foreign teachers almost certainly means there are at least five total employees.
Korean Labor Law changed in 2018 and the amount of annual leave went up from 15 days to 26 days. The exception is for small companies (less than 5 employees). There is a detailed post on Reddit here:https://www.reddit.com/r/Korean_Law/comments/fidnsy/annual_paid_leave_and_foreign_workers/What is not used during the contract period is to be paid out as Unused Annual Leave in cash, and 25% of that money then is used to increase severancehttps://www.reddit.com/r/Korean_Law/comments/fhw90m/korean_labor_law_most_foreign_employees_lose_1520/Additionally, the wording of the contract is very important and there are two other administrative items which can also affect the use of Annual Leave. The Reddit sub is run by a Korean Labor Law Firm and they have tons of articles, but if you need more help just send an email to the info.klabor@gmail.com account and they will get back to you.Cheers
6 days of vacation? Are people really taking jobs like that?
