Giving the lingering stink eye to nomaskers
« on: March 22, 2020, 12:24:57 pm »
The tables have finally turned. Instead of these slack-jawed, parochial
yokels giving me stares, I can now pay them back in spades.  Anytime
I see a nomasker I give them a long, disdainful stare.  If I really want to
stir the pot I throw in a head shake.

I was standing at a red light the other day and some nomasker ajoshi
was right up close with no mask.  Then he spits.  I totally give him the
stink eye, the head shake, and throw in a "ewwww".  At this he looks
at me and yells "mul ba?" (What are you looking at?)  Out of nowhere
this ajuma starts screaming at him from behind me.  It was great.

Would've been better if she'd stabbed him in the ass with the tip of a parasol, but I'll take this.

10 minutes later they'd be signing up for a "hiking trip" together. Not only did OP teach some hygiene lessons, he may have inadvertently played matchmaker!

Look who feels worried now... Pretty much like Trump.

Holy shit I'm an 85-year-old teacher with hypertension, diabetes and cancer!!!

Whaa! Whaa! Whaa!

GMTF out of here!!!  There is a possibility I might get the virus!!! whaa!!!  There
is another possibility it might not be a mild form!!! Whaa!  There is another
possibility I might develop complications!!! Hoiy shit!!!

Midnight run! Midnight run! Midnight run!

Holy shit!!!

You people make me laugh at your ignorance.  Getting in a car in Korea, or smoking
is probably MUCH more likely to kill you.

Get a grip.

Wow, OK.  We've reached the second tier. 1,001-10,000.

This flu is just a pain in the ass.  It should be called the "diaper" flu.

It doesn't scare me in the least.

2019 deaths in Korea = 314,000

http://koreajoongangdaily.joins.com/news/article/article.aspx?aid=3061159

Divide by the number of days(365) = 860

This means 860 people die per day. Every day.  Covid-19 pales in comparison.

STOP WHINING AND WHINGING.  RUNNING HOME TO MOMMY WON'T HELP!

It still doesn't scare me because I am fighting it.  Follow the rules.
Don't panic.

And the last thing you want to do is run home to mommy.

I dunno which is more annoying:

Those who don't wear masks
Or
Those who try to shame those who don't.

The World Health Organization does not recommend healthy people wear them, though they recognize the worth of doing so for some are infected but asymptomatic. And it deters to some degree finger to nose or mouth transmission.

The lack of filtering efficacy of masks against the annual yellow sand and smog in general is lost on Koreans who already had faith in masks.

Choosing to wear a mask is one safety precaution among many, though its effectiveness is questionable relative to other methods like wearing gloves (should be a priority too), with hand washing a clear beneficial near equivalent tactic; and social distancing.

I don't understand the people who walk around Lotte Mart with their mask down around their neck, like, below their chin.

No, fuckface, you don't get to pretend that you give a shit. Take the damn thing off. At least with no mask, I can justify their actions and give someone the benefit of the doubt.

- They don't have any and they need to get something for their baby
- They had one but it blew away outside 10 mins ago
- ANYTHING

But these people have one! Like, stop pretending you care, just be honest with us, dickless. So angry.

Well, our city just sent members of city hall to 638 hagwons.  We are now required to wear masks as teachers, and they'll be coming back to check.  Worst thing is, I've never been able to breathe through my nose as long as I can remember, and can only breathe through my mouth.  I tried to wear a mask and felt like I couldn't breathe.  No idea what I'm going to do....

Not sure what prevents you from breathing through your mouth while wearing a mask?
In any case, I recommend wearing a simple surgical/dental mask while teaching, rather than the KF-94 fine dust masks. The former ones allow more airflow which is needed when someone wears them for hours while talking a lot.
