Well my last job ended at the end of Feb. I moved cities to right outside Seoul and as expected because of the virus and such there are no new decent jobs around.

I just did lazy stuff at home for the  first while, spending a few hrs a day looking at job sites ect. Seems the same shit jobs posted over and over.

So the last 2 weeks I have started to be more productive. Spending 4-6 hrs a day on programming learning and building my own site. 1-2 hrs on Korean learning. A bunch of time cooking and trying out making meals that take more prep that I wouldn't have time for. Also doing some baking and making my own loafs and breads. Gonna make my own pizza this week with my own dough then some naan bread and hummus. Evenings I watch youtube/shows/play TFT (Riot (LoL) game). Keeps me busy enough....

Realising that my daily walking is kind of limited with its range and that I shouldn't really be mountain hiking and walking around yesterday seeing so many people riding around on bikes, I bought a bike.  I was umming and ahhing for a bit and then thought I'd jump in.  So went to the bike shop and got a mountain bike and helmet for 250 000 won.  They threw in a padlock and lights for free.  Thing is, the two people in front of me bought bikes, so including me, they must have sold three bikes in about 20 minutes.  Roaring trade.  Then went out for a small ride at 3pm and came back at 6pm.  Got carried away.  My bum hurts today.  But so lovely getting out into the countryside bits around my apartment.

Need to get better disciplined about strict working hours.

That's the difficult thing as when you're at home, you have your sofa and bed, and after a bit of working you think 'oh, I'll just have a little lie down'.  If I'm studying I need to be in a classroom or in a library.  That's how I do it best.  My bro in Germany is working from home, but he's in contact with others and having phone conferences and there is  a lot of work he can do remotely.  Which would make it easier.  I can do a little bit like lesson planning for my night classes, and seat plans for students, and other bits and pieces.  But it's not really necessary, and I don't think the school expects teachers to really be 'working from home', as my VP told me to take it easy.   :undecided:

Welcome to my life.

Right, either you have a bike or you are gay.  :undecided: As you have a ladyfriend, I will discount the latter.   :-*   I need to get a new seat, that one was the cheap one already on it, and it wrecked my behind.

I was in tears yesterday watching this reddit video. (SFW) Needs sound.

I got a haircut today.

My favorite place usually has four or five customers. Today just me and one other.

I hated getting my hair cut in Korea. A 2 hour process that was expensive and not one iota better than my barber here in the tropics that is finished in about 5 minutes and costs less than $1.00

If it takes a guy more than 10 minutes to get your hair cut in Korea, you are doing it wrong.

I'm brushing up (read: re-learning) on stats for my masters next year. I remember that I hate stats.

Great.

Well done.

Over the past few day, and reading a few posts, I now have images of you and your ladyfriend ddongchimming each other because of boredom and of Chinguetti exfoliating with a long scratchy washcloth.

But T.P. in the U.S.? I just don't get it.
Neither do I, but let me tell you, there's gonna be some *epic* TPing happening next Halloween!

As for me, I'm doing a lot of hiking: a new trail every day! Really helps that I live in an area with tonnes of great trails, parks, rivers, and mountains. Yay for living in the boonies, I guess.
Also doing a lot of reading. Being pressured to try out audibles: convenient for when I'm running or hiking, but for some reason the voices from my phone never sound as good as the ones in my head.
And cooking! By the time corvid finally dies, I'll either be a gourmet chef, or a hopeless wino (because what fun is cooking without a glass of vin?).

Yep.  I imagine it's more difficult (unless you have a car) if you live in the city to navigate around to get out into the countryside without fear of spreading things.  Having the countryside outside your front door is a definite bonus.  :-*

On the negative side, I wanted to go out for a cycle yesterday, after my enjoyable, frivolous cycling on Sunday, but I already had a puncture and no way to fix it.

Have you tried solid rubber tires? (No air needed.) About 50,000 won each.

But so uncomfortable. Easier to get something called slime, a liquid you squirt through the valve into the tube and should you get a puncture it seals it immediately.

Fixing a puncture is pretty basic too, any cycle shop sells the necessary, so always carry a repair kit and a set of tyre levers with you.

What are you guys doing these days - not leaving your house, going out to cafes and restaurants as usual or something in between?

I feel like I've been lulled into a false sense of security because everything feels so strangely "normal".  Coffee shops and restaurants look like they're back to business as usual when you look in the window, streets are far from deserted etc.  If I weren't so ugly I'd swear the guy behind me at the checkout in Homeplus was coming on to me he was standing so close.  Social distancing??  I've just watched six teachers huddle around a tiny table in the office sharing fruit from one plate.

It feel like the cautious time has completely passed now but I'm still worried haha.
