I made a game for What a nice day by using the game Twister and simply printing out key phrases such as cute dog, tall building, massive hamburger and so on.
Students must work in pairs to link up as many key words as they can by standing on the key words. You can swap the key words around once everyone has played the game. It just breaks up the usual text book stuff and gets them active, some funny positions can occur too!

This is about the test we had in May for 5th grades from lesson 1 to lesson 4.

I hope it'd be helpful.

Thanks.

A simple PPT I made for my lower level students. Picture and vocab words, that's it.
~
A PPT I made correct/review the dialog from the "Look and Listen"portion of the chapter. Simple, yet very effective.

I made a Mad-Lib activity for Lesson 4. I taught them a lot of adjectives and used it during 5th period. I was surprised by how creative some of them got!

1) Explain with the ppt
2) hand out worksheet 1--have them fill out the blanks with a partner
3) give them the story worksheet to complete.
4) let them come to the front of the class and read their stories

*change some of the examples on worksheet 1 to suit your students

Love Mad Libs and such an awesome idea! I thought that this would be really great to use as the Mod 6 Project instead of one suggested in the book.

Split class into groups and follow the same steps for 1 & 2 as per koutler's original post. Check that S have filled out the worksheet correctly, then give them a piece of poster paper and worksheet 2 for them to fill in the blanks. Part of the team can draw pictures for their story and the other half complete the story. Have the groups present their posters and the class can choose the funniest  :D

Here's a little idea you can incorporate in the lesson, I found the kids really enjoyed it and wanted to keep playing until my co-teacher insisted we use the CD. Quite simple really, I stand in front and draw an imaginary object in the air with my finger, the students then try and guess what the object is using the given sentences for this theme.  e.g. I draw the shape of a big tree in the air and the students try to guess what it is, they have to use "what a...." in each guess e.g. "what a big tree".
hope this helps!!

This is a PPT I made to use with Genki English Steal Swap bust Cards...You may want to modify it because the first slide is a picture of me. The students look at the picture. Make a sentence like What a ....! And draw a card. They love this game! the other PPTs are for practice before the game...

Heres a Mario game I made for the review at the end. There are three places for you to put pictures of yourself and co-teachers.

What a tall boy, lets go up there etc

i used this PPT to review the first three stories at the beginning of class.

it shows each story at a time. when the kids guess the word that goes in the blank i show the word. we would then read the entire sentence together.
