Who has caused you more problems here, Waygooks or Koreans?
« on: February 12, 2020, 01:54:43 am »
Just wondering.

I have found other wayooks to be more problematical on a personal level. They want to get in my business more, do stuff like borrow money and not return it, etc. As friends, Koreans are often more straightforward and open.

Never, ever borrow money to ESL teachers unless you know them from back home or they are working at the same hagwon as you. Even this can be problematic.

Foreigners in Korea especially ESL teachers are frugal and can not be trusted. One minute they are there the next minute they are gone.

Koreans flake but you can find them easier, when a foreigners flakes you are sol!

Trick question.

Neither causes much of a ruckus.

(Though, drivers of taxis, buses and big trucks have caused some stress.)

Koreans for sure, but that's probably got more to do with being more exposed to them since there are many more of them around, lol. And also because I'm very picky about the foreigners I expose myself to. The majority of them are fine, but Korea does attract a lot of weirdos.

50/50. Had a absolute stain of a co teacher in the first year but luckily she moved on.

Only wayg that caused issues was a bat s*** crazy feminist type that went for me outside a bar in Ulsan, for the crime of saying I believe in equality, not feminism.

One Korean dude thought me sitting with my wife at a football game in Jeonju was offensive, but once I turned around and asked if there was a problem in fluent korean, he soon f***** off.

I think she got that wrong, the offical line is 'feminism is for equality, therefore you are a feminist'. Complete boll-cks of course.

For me the only actual problems have been caused by systemic inconveniences. Bank, non-emergency hospital, and telecom store hours are just aggravating. Less so now that I did all the stuff that requires person-to-person interaction, like opening accounts and setting up online certificates. But if I look back at the times I have applied to leave work early it was always for something that in America wouldn't be necessary. I'm just annoyed that out of the 20+ bank branches (from KB, KEB-Hana, Nonghyup, and Daegu Bank) in my city not a single one is open later than 4:00 pm Mon-Fri. No Saturday hours, no "6 o'clock on Wednesdays", nothing.

I remember reading somewhere a while back that, in reaction to some really harsh criticism from a high-ranking official, Korean banks had actually extended their hours one year, but they ended up reversing this change because no one came in. When this was investigated later, it turned out that not a single bank had advertised the change in hours in any way, so the reason why no one came in after 4 pm was because no one knew the banks were still open then, lol. :undecided:

Part of the problem with these gutter rat, type of women, is that men don't stand up for themselves any longer....

And when this happens....this is what you get..(BTW...anyone want to take a guess here these nasty-arsses are from).

1/ Easily foreigners.  I don't hang around Koreans, usually. (nothing in common)
2/ Foreigners' wives.  Always seem to be conniving, scheming.
3/ Koreans.

Back in the day a foreigner (friend) disappeared with 12,000,000KRW of my
money.  Worst case for sure.

BTW, his name was: TIM MOORE from Canada. (If anybody knows him)

Long story short.  He had a hagwon.  I needed a visa.  Then, he and his wife
left with all the key money and my money.  This was about the time when
Korea was insisting on apostilled documents.  So, I think he was a thief and
a fraudster.

I blame myself.  He was a drunk scumbag. Also, from definitions I read, a
sociopath.

I was going to post, “if you lend somebody $100 and never see them again, it is money well spent”, but 12Mil Won a little steep!
