6 Degrees of Separation
« on: February 09, 2020, 10:42:11 am »
You know this theory, now give your best, most amazing example. This should be fun, at least until it gets derailed by silly arguments.......

Me Queen Elizabeth II

1) I baby sat the kids of a lady

2) She grew up in Liverpool and baby sat Richard Starkey (she also knew the other 3 lads very well)

3) Richard played drums in The Beatles

4) Ringo Starr was knighted by the Queen in 2018

Me and the Queen....4 degrees of separation

She babysat Ringo?

What was he like as a kid?; did she say?

It'd be fascinating to hear those stories.

Because you babysat her kids you got to know her somewhat well?

Yes, she married a Canadian fellow and she said all of the lads were just normal kids. Nice, polite, just normal. I wanted to hear salacious details but alas, they were normal kids, part of the gang as it were.

Ringo will turn 80 this year. I wondering if the woman who babysat him is still alive. Try to chat with her again if possible. Ringo introduced her to the other Beatles? He didn't join until he was 22, so it's cool they stayed in touch all those years.

Between me and Queen Elizabeth II:

My best bud in university served Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau dinner at a Lebanese restaurant in Montreal.

Trudeau pirouetted behind the Queen.

Oh I can well imagine that woman is long since dead. Unless she's well into her 90's pushing 100. I can't even remember her name. Jenny rings a bell, but I'm not sure.

I remember the pirouette. I loved it. Pierre was the first person I ever voted for, I thought he was a cool PM.

How is it that you babysat her kids? I mean, what age were the kids at the time?

One of my friend's wife was in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1"

Rade Serbedzija starred as Gregorovitch in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1" and also played the Russian General in "X-Men: First Class.

So my Kevin Bacon number is 4.

I don't know. They were young I remember that. One wasn't in school yet and the other one still wore diapers.

I attended a dinner with, and shook hands with Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex.

HMTQ is his mum.

(Aside: It was a Duke of Edinburgh award dinner where my cousin got her award. I theorize that  Edward hasnít been made a Duke yet because he will eventually take his fatherís title.)

Me and The Queen (1 degree of separation):
I knew a Scarlett Johnson before she was popular. I also once met Queen Latifah or someone that sorta looked like her, might have been Scarlet Johansson.  Either way, it was awesome.  I was scared as well.

Back in the 90's, my uncle was at a barbecue party. The host saw the neighbor out in his yard. He said: "Hey Paul, come over for a beer". So Paul did come over and to my uncle's surprise, it was actually Paul Newman.
My aunt met a bunch of Noble Prize winners due to her work.
I personally met and had a chat with 3 of my country's embassadors to Korea. They met lots of prominent politicians, presidents from all over the World.
