In related news, is anybody else having trouble with nested quotes? I can't seem to make a quote of somebody's comment that includes the quotes they're commenting on. I had to include the above nested quotes manually.

I'm having the same issue, but I had assumed that was done on purpose in an attempt to cut down on the excessive quote trees.

isn't it more difficult to get an F2 these days? didn't they just change the rules?

Yeah, that's what I figured too.
Admin basically just destroyed my raison d'κtre here on Wayg.

Yeah, they did.
They split the F visa into two separate visas (recently, I think?): the F-2-7 and the F-2-99.
The F-2-7 is the point based one most people are familiar with, and I believe they upped the language requirements for it.
The F-2-99 is weighted more just for people who have been here for a long time. Only caveat is that you can't have left Korea for more than a month at a time during the last 5 years or so. Apparently they've upped the language requirement for this one as well (you need a KIIP 4 to successfully apply instead of the old Topik 2 requirement).

Here's a break-down of the eligibility requirements for the two different F-2 visas:
F-2-7
F-2-99

That info is outdated. While previously applicants needed to pass either KIIP stage 4 or the relatively easy TOPIK level 2 to have the F-2-99, now only KIIP stage 4 will do. The KIIP stage 4 is much harder than TOPIK level 2.

Thanks for the heads up!

Visa in Korea also states this, although they add that if you already have the F-2-99 visa and are renewing it, you don't need to meet the KIIP 4 requirement (which is not at all useful to me, but whatever).

What does that mean? My (and some other users) posts have already had our posts deleted here.

It's a joke.
It's funny because I'm a mod reading this thread.

But seriously, i think the issue was shot-gunning a job-posting thread with negative comments. I doubt that starting a new thread taking apart a job-offer would be censored to the same extent.

What's the difference?

Edit: Nice. Yeah, there's simply no need to see a back and forth of 12 comments between 2 people if you're one of those people and you're the one commenting NEXT on the thread. We get it. We read it.

Don't worry CO2! You'll be happy to know that with just a bit of extra effort, it's still possible to introduce truly annoying formatting gaffes to popular threads!
   See? :azn:

—————————

The number of students is low because the academy is now starting.

We use an e-library program that provides learning materials. - reading books and activities with the students.

You can teach with various subjects and materials without a textbook.

The students make presentations once a month. They give a presentation on the textbook story that they learn in Korean teachers' class, or freely decide the topic of their presentation, so help students prepare for presentation classes.

Obviously, this is a joke.  cheapbitch@naver.com?  Funny fake ad though?  Other countries you can make more money or have a cheaper cost of living and save more.  If Korea doesn't want to pay, their loss.  Do a year for some experience, get a good in class TESOL after, and jump countries.  Or stay and get paid peanuts.  Your choice.  There are some good offers around if you look around.  Salaries should range from 2.6 to 3.0 if you have free housing and live close to your school.  To give a guide, all my overtime, renewal allowance, and multiple school allowances equal around 3.5 mil a month (including rent allowance).  I pay 500K a month for rent in a large place.  So, 3 mil.  But I have to commute and drive around.  Car fuel, repairs averaged out, insurance prob is 200 K a month.  So, with free housing, I would take a pay cut if I didn't need a car.  2.8 mil a month would be ok without that expense.  But soon with rising costs I would expect it to rise to keep up with inflation.  A 2.1 million salary with round trip flight in 2008 now with one way flight is prob almost equal to 3 million in 2020 money.

So, you have to know what you are worth all kidding around.  It isn't always the amount converted into US dollars either.  It's whole package including living cost.  Low 2000s (US dollars) - say 2200 bucks in Vietnam even if paying your own rent will allow a high amount of savings potential much more than Korea.  Chinese salaries are the same or even more than here and with free housing and flight reimbursements.  Their desperation level is stepping up.

A handful of job postings along with Daves and here can help your searches in Korea or other countries.  Find the higher paying ones and go for them.  Reject the lower paying jobs.
