I'm still fairly young, so many of my idols are not quite there yet, but I've had two. Anthony Bourdain and David Bowie really, really affected me. I was halfway through Kitchen Confidential when Bourdain killed himself. I had posted a picture of his book, with my meal at Warung Kita, the day before he died. My friend sent me a CNN article and I just couldn't believe it.

When Bob Dylan goes............... ... that'll be really hard. He's been a presence in my life for.... the last half of my life. He is the absolute largest presence, musically, in my life. That day will come and I don't relish it. I've seen him 5 times and a lot of people slag off his performing skills at his age, but that's not why you go see him.

It's not bad, and I do understand he's not spry at this point. It's a pilgrimage, and I will go every time.
