The new Boris album was ok but I find myself just going back to their older stuff.

It did grow on me a fair bit after a few listens, especially when I listened to it when I was in a mood that was more receptive to the sort of atmosphere they were going for this time around. That's Boris for you, I guess. They've always been all over the place, and I love them for it.It's weird to me to see people saying this wasn't a good year for music. I actually really struggled to whittle my list down to ten, given all the great music I got this year. The above-mentioned Devin Townsend, for example, was on my list for a few months, and it was fairly last minute that I bumped it off in favor of the new Rotting Christ.
Nice!! Good to see some Mayhem love here. I have to admit I haven't listened to the new one yet but I will do after listening to that single.Late last year I went through a short phase of obsession with Mayhem. God knows how many times I listened to their first album and Live in Leipzig. Them and Darkthrone. I'd listen to Transilvanian Hunger (song) on repeat when I exercised haha. What a time to be alive!

Perhaps you could post in one of the several threads you've started about old-timey music instead?

I wonder how many albums Mayhem will be selling in 2080?
