Electronic CRC??
« on: November 16, 2019, 06:58:46 am »
Has anyone gotten their background check done using the FBI's electronic request/delivery option? Would printing out the electronic CRC and having that apostilled alright immigration wise? Having the Identity History Summary Report done online is much faster and it's way cheaper than using a channeller, I just want to make sure it will work.

I used a chaneller but they only had an electronic option.  I got my results in a couple of hours.  Printed CBC's (from the FBI) are printed on special security paper.  I had to buy security paper on Amazon and print my CBC on that paper.  Then I sent it in for the apostille and had no problems.

You can't just print it out on normal paper (at least that's what the rule was when I did it in 2016).  You'll have to get tamper-proof paper (paper that, when copied, has a "VOID" or "COPY" watermark).   I don't think it has to do with immigration rules but instead it's for the apostille people.  Since you send in a copy of your CBC to get apostilled, all CBC's should have a watermark.

Something like this:
