Nothing wrong with this song, but  yeah, it's just pretty damn boring for me, that's just personal taste.

For most people, their musical tastes will find its roots in their youth (childhood to early adulthood). 
I didn't grow up in the beach boys. surf rock or doo-wop era so there won't be any nostalgic element affecting me. I can only experience and listen to it from a musical perspective and personally I can't find anything here to justify your claim that "old music" is better.

Where are the harmonies? Ever heard more than one instrument (including the voice), produce pitch at the same time? Then you've heard harmony. Even the crappiest mumble rap still has a harmonic component so, I'm not sure what you mean. Harmony hasn't gone anywhere and it never will.

You're approaching music exactly like a militant K-pop fan, only difference is you look and act like a more bitter version of Mr Wilson.

I think the problem here is that you listen to PSY. There are an estimated 100,000 albums released per year. Straw-manning contemporary music as "6... 8...10 or more kids in a K-Pop group and there's no harmonies" just shows that you need to get out more. Or, rather stay in more and listen to more music.

Today is presenting precious little in the form of decent music. It's predominantly computer generated formulaic claptrap designed specifically to entrap the great unwashed who desire nothing more than mindless entertainment that is as shallow as a typical mud puddle. Very much like the younger generation.

This thread does stink of old man yelling at cloud. But he is right on one point. No one band / individual can have the impact they used to have. There probably could never be another Led Zepplin, or David Bowie. In that these were innovators who truly influenced the main stream. Here's the thing though. We live in a time where absolutely anyone can record their own music and upload it online. The time of the big music labels is nearly at an end. There's so much content in so many genres that the world's your oyster really. And there are people and groups of immense talent to rival heroes of old who will probably never crack into the global awareness the way they would have a couple of decades ago (which I reckon was the last bastion of the notion of the rock star). You just need to put effort into looking for them because they'll probably never be on the radio. But I'm sure they have their audience. So it's give and take really. There's more opportunity now for anyone to make it, but not on the scale they used to. That's my two cents. Anyway here's my current jam.
