I used several VICE documentaries to let them think on policy changes. After having researched most of the available data they chose to give up on investing in renewables and came up with plans to escape the worst effects by migrating to Canada or Russia.

Nobody viewed becoming vegan as a viable option.  ;D  Next sessions clearly need to be on the ethics of who gets to live and survive in Canada and who has to go live with the Ruskis.

I have a couple of free periods at the end of this unit, so I'm using it to let them watch part of  Cowspiracy. It's about the impact of animal agriculture on climate change.

 I made some questions for them to fill in while watching the movie (an easy and a hard version...both in the same doc). The lesson before watching the movie, I will go over a preview ppt, and they will answer the first two questions (during lesson 11.5). Then, we will go over the rest of the questions to make sure that they understand them. 

During my next free class we will go over a ppt with problems and solutions for helping the environment.
Then, they will make posters based on how they can save the earth.

I'm also showing them a short clip of one of Greta's speeches during another class.

11.4 - Sparkle Die and Action Reading. Sparkle die uses and expands on the reading from the book. The sound is a bit tinny on that video but I found it's also on Netflix with Korean subtitles.

That's great that it's on Netflix!  If I had enough time to show the whole thing, I'd use Netflix as well. I had to clip the video on my computer which doesn't have very good speakers.

Introductory PPT with & a 4 corners game, didn't realize there was already one posted here before I made it, whoops. Be sure to check this post every now & again as I'll be editing it if/when I make more files for the later parts of the lesson.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)

Four Corners game: Slightly different from the other one posted here. Instructions included in the PPT. (Ideal for the first or second period)

Connect 4 game: Divide the class into 2 teams (Yellow VS Red), students ask the question "How about 00~ing _____?" in order to place their teams colour marker in the square. (Ideal for the first or second period)

Word lotto review with work sheet for kids to write their answers and track their own points. 

Feel free to use this template and worksheet to modify for other lessons next year.
