NHL ... draft, offseason, 2019-20 season
« on: June 22, 2019, 11:32:14 am »
The playoffs are done.

The draft has produced at least two players likely to make an IMMEDIATE impact:

Kaapo Kakko, RW, Rangers, is 6'2, strong on the puck, dominant in a men's league in Finland and expected to be in the Rags starting line-up this fall. New York needs a star and new direction and he will headline it.

Philip Broberg, D, Oilers, is nearly 6'4, skates like the wind and is touted for his hockey IQ. He also has played in a men's league in Sweden and was the mvp of the u-18 world championships. He and McDavid should make magic together soon.

Of course, Jack Hughes might as well. But the Devils are pumping the brakes on expectations. He might be the 2nd line center next season but he will not be 3rd, 4th, as he is not that type of player, according to New Jersey sports media. Chances are he gets a more limited role or another season of development.
