Scavenger hunt Vocabulary activity

This activity I used for my after school class of 4th graders. We were doing a mini-unit on spies and secret codes. I had previously taught them how to look at a code (ie number/letter/symbol substitution codes, but you can do any code you want). First I had several pictures hidden around the room. They were only about 1.5" by 1.5" and there were enough for one for each of them (make sure the students aren't taking more than one of each picture). Once they had each of the pictures, they return to their desk where worksheet and the code were waiting. They had to decode each word on the paper to match the picture to the correct. Attached is an example of my sheet using very simple words. I used morse code for my lesson, but you can use any code you want.
