New layout

I like it but now my ''leftist Bernie anti Kekistani hate speech against weak nazi wannabes'' info can't be readily seen.

How is boldy to know who's making fun of him and why... Aren't we as teachers told how we always have to be consistent and predictable in our approaches and handling of deviant pannekoek! behaviours in our classes?  I fear for him, especially with his grammar being the way it is of late...early onset of Trumpicitus?

Let me know what you think of the new layout.  If people don't like it, I can work on a new one.  I just think this is clutter free.
See you on my site:  https://arsalan.io/

I’m looking for the “new replies” and “new posts” button.

This format is harder to navigate on my small iPhone SE screen, with the avatars and poster details taking up large amounts of space.

ummmm   :undecided:  I'm not sure how I feel about this....And what's this the stock photo in the background.  I'd prefer something a little more race natural.  Not all "waygooks" are white men.   :cheesy:

I like the color scheme, makes it feel a bit more alive than before. Aside from getting used to this new layout, I think it's fine overall.

I will say though, not liking how things I hover over with my cursor aren't highlighted/underlined. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but not having that makes it feel like my screen is frozen, and that happens quite a bit with these school computers.

You click on the "X" next to your name.  But I've noticed it will keep popping up with each page refresh ....so it's pointless really.

i'm with this dude.  it feels a bit like changing from Windows XP to Windows 10, as in it'll just take a bit of time to get used to the layout and the format, after being a bit of a shock the first time.

I like it, but on the mobile version a poster's profile details are above their post, rather than next to it...makes reading posts more confusing on the mobile version.

new layout looks nice.  i like the side bar tab that clearly lists some of the relevant pages of the site.  lesson plans, downloads,  help, etc.  since the old index is bar is gone from the main page, i guess i can stop suggesting my idea to move the forum page to the main page.   still don't like seeing too many political threads cluttering up the main page but it is what it is.

color scheme is nice.  ronnie and jvprice are right.  the blue really brings it out.  i know when i logged in today and saw the different layout, i thought i was on the wrong site.  :D

Pros: The color scheme and logo are nice. The blue is pleasant, makes things look more modern.

Cons: The sidebar that won't stop returning. Also dislike the larger profile pictures (one of the things I've always disliked about fordiddenshare.jcink as well, I'm not interested in seeing each user's spirit animal).

Posts scroll well in mobile, but as waygook says, it's also hard to tell who posted what.

I do like how the site resembles a lot of the portal sites for Unis so teachers can look like they're working instead of chatting. Sidebar is a good thing for that.

I appreciate the feedback.  The layout will be undergoing changes based on the feedback.

I do however like the sidebar, it removes clutter and the site is full width so it doesn't use much screen real estate.  On mobile devices, it's not there until you click the hamburger menu to make it visible.

@AMDC. @JNM.   I've removed the avatars from message view.  It should be a lot more readable on mobile and smaller screens.

I like the new layout but, I voted no.
My school PC (where I use waygook), is really old and slow.
Now, when I open up waygook, it takes like 5 minutes to become responsive AND freezes the browser while doing so; So I can't even use my other tabs while I wait.

This is another reason why I prefer smaller-sized profile pictures. Last thing I need is to fuel more hot office gossip about the NET.

It's not actually that heavy on the front-end javascript, not sure why it would freeze your browser... must be a very old pc.  Is that the only option you have?  I've removed some of the clutter as @AMDC and @JNM have suggested.  The entire idea is to make it more available.  It's mobile friendly.

You will find there is more than just the layout that was changed.  I had to do a lot on the backend to improve performance.

You should also notice now the upload feature (where you can upload lesson plans or attachments) will show you a progress bar so that you can upload your stuff and type your notes at the same time.    It's also drag and drop, so you can just select your files and drop them on the screen where the box is located.  Less waiting, and less aggravation.

If I used it at home it would be fine. However, I only use waygook while at work.
And yeah, my work PC is really old. Just opening powerpoint / word is super taxing on my pc haha.
However, other than that initial freeze when I loaded it up, it's been running a lot smoother afterwards.

Maybe I'll check how it goes over the next few days, and see if it keeps happening. If it does, I might have to go for a walk in the morning while I wait on everything to start up haha.
