s6 edge - new battery
« on: March 27, 2019, 05:49:51 pm »
The  battery is playing up on the wife's phone - it is about 3 years old to be fair.

She is happy wit the phone otherwise - how much would it cost to stick in a new battery at the service center please ?   Would it be much cheaper going down an unofficial route ? Yongsan etc ???

thanks

Replacements are always worse than the originals, as its an s6 just go get an s8/s9 package. It's just not how it used to be, nowadays everything is fused together and aimed at a 1-2 year cycle.

i checked and saw it's pretty expensive... weirdly so, because it's 400 euros or 19 per month in Europe but 50-60.000 in Korea. Perhaps check around a bit, but I'd be hesitant buying battery replacements as they should always be "real" ones and you simply can't rely on some ajeossi not making a lot by using cheap fake ones which look exactly the same.

I've gone to the Samsung service center several times in the past for issues with my Galaxy smartphone, and I've had to get my battery replaced before. I don't remember exactly how much it cost, but it wasn't expensive (less than 50,000원). Although I'm not sure if the battery is different for newer phone models (my Galaxy smartphone is pretty old).
