why are you watching a game in a restaurant?  talk to these people, they need your wise words.
Why am I watching sports over food and beers with friends? What an unheard of concept.

Friends in a restaurant watching a game on their respective smart phones is a bit weird I'd have thought. Unless times have changed a lot.

it is weird.  don't be fooled.  showing some photos on your phone in a restaurant, is okay I suppose, but to stare at a small phone screen in a restaurant when you're socialising on a night out?  kind of anti-social to sit watching a game like that.  go home and watch it on a bigger screen, and then go out after or go to a sports bar and have a shared experience with other people.

Not just antisocial. Bumass lowclass shit. Sadly I've come to expect this kind of behavior from el Martin.

You watch it over a cellphone though? I can understand doing it over the restaurants TV, but on a cellphone*? O.o (*or other portal electronic device)
The restaurant doesn't have the game on or doesn't have a TV. Or they're showing the tail-end of some Korean basketball game while Merseyside is on, so you stream it on your phone.

And usually it's just off to the side, like the TV normally is. You eat and talk like a normal human being and then glance over if it's bases loaded and a tie game.

This is with other friends who are sports fans.

while Merseyside is on,

Eh? You mean Liverpool?

Baseball?

I'm confused.

do these 'friends' know that you think of them as cheapskates for not doing this really weird anti-social thing?

Merseyside Derby. I'm American, I'm probably off on the lingo.

Yes, baseball. The NY Mets are my favorite squadron.

As a former restaurateur (that's right I owned a Kimbap place. People said I had the best Kimbap. Had to close down due to jealousy), what I always hated was bumass crooks coming into my restaurant and setting up their telephone to watch some sporting event. As though I'm providing some sort of personal saloon. Sure come in, eat my food, watch your sports. You want a goddamn foot rub too?

How about you pay a little bit extra and GO TO THE STADIUM TO WATCH THE GAME! What's that? It's in England and you are in Korea? Not my problem, cheapass bitchass crook. Get out of my restaurant and take your rinky dink telephone with you. Crowding around a 6 inch screen, treating my business like your own lounge. Get out.
