Your Go-To Breakfast
« on: March 12, 2019, 07:18:58 am »
As I and many early birds will tell you, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. That said, coming from America, Korea can feel a bit... limited in some of its breakfast options. I can't tell you how many times I've had cereal or eggs with toast, with the occasional omurice over the past year and a half.

What do you guys like to make in the morning? Perhaps you've brought recipes from your respective home countries? I'd like to know!

A cup of coffee left over from the day before along with a generous heaping of oh-my-god-I'm-gonna-be-late.

And I'm sorry, but the recipe is a family secret.

Two hard boiled eggs and black coffee.   Sometimes, a triangle kimbap from CU otherwise I stick to that.

Unlike this savage, I make a fresh pot in the morning.

Yogurt and if I'm feeling particularly ravenous, an energy bar.  ;D

One pot of fresh coffee, one hard-boiled egg.

Sometimes a piece of rye toast with peanut butter (sugar-free, of course).

Upon waking, 1lit of water and unless I'm on a cycle 1 scoop of Creatine and a teaspoon of Beta-Alanine.
Weekdays, Quick Oats with banana slices and honey and/or rye toast with peanut butter and/or Marmite.

Weekends, Pancakes (with a scoop of whey in the recipe) topped with banana slices and honey and 2 hard boiled eggs.

This bread is expensive, but if you love bread as much as I do and gag at what passes for bread here, you'll consider it

Weekdays
Usually a smoothie: frozen berries, banana, spinach, hemp hearts, scoop of spirulina, maybe some yogurt
Sometimes I make a big pot of quinoa porridge (esp. in the winter): quinoa, coconut milk (or whatever milk you like), cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, ginger, honey. Add whatever fruit I have in the morning.

Weekends
Pancakes, American breakfast (eggs, toast, bacon, fried toms, hasbrowns), Muffin/Banana-Zucchini Loaf/Whatever I decided to bake and fruit.

And always a big pot of coffee.

I'm also in the coffee club.

I hate eating as soon as I wake up. Prefer to wait until lunchtime.

Y'all eating boiled eggs for breakfast? How do you manage the farts throughout the day? Squeeze em out when no one is looking or just blast em off in the office and blame the P.E teacher like everyone else?

I can't remember the last time I ate anything for breakfast. Maybe 1998 EPIK orientation.

Hard Boiled eggs make you fart?  Sorry to hear that.  Maybe you should go have that problem checked out.  8)

if i'm trying to slim down or maintain my current weight - 2 or 3 cups of black coffee and 2 or 3 heaters

if i'm trying to bulk - 2 or 3 cups of black coffee, a huge bowl of oatmeal with cut up apples or bananas, a scoop of protein, a scoop of peanut butter, and 2 or 3 heaters

about once every other week, i will blow my wife's mind and make pancakes and sausage for dinner. the first time she couldn't believe it...now she'll ask when we're having breakfast for dinner again.

gonna throw this out there - a few years ago i found liquid egg whites on gmarket. not the protein powder...but actual liquid egg whites in plastic jugs. it was great because i don't usually have time to make eggs so i would just slam a big glass of the liquid whites in the morning on my way out the door. anybody know of a place to get them again?

It depends on how hungry I am. Sometimes I'll have a plain yogurt and some nuts (E-mart sells these one a day nut packages that last for a while) and other times I'll just have a cup of coffee. If I'm ever truly hungry, I'll throw in a banana with the yogurt and nuts.

Whatever I get on the commute- energy bars or random GS25 poison. Usually followed by a model's lunch of cigarettes and black coffee. Unless the cafeteria menu is good. Then it's water and a bar for breakfast.

My preferred travel breakfast- beef jerky, fruit, nuts, some sort of small biscuit, maybe some dried seaweed. Stay light. Iron rations.

My sumptuous breakfast- a Greek Omelette with spinach, feta, gyro meat, tomatoes, onions, mushrooms. A fresh fruit bowl. A small portion of hash browns or grits or oatmeal.

I had you down as a white rice and kimchi kinda guy. I do apologize.
