Classic video of Korean comedians going to New York and asking for directions in English.

Lava speaking game.  Students must guide the teacher from one spot on a map to another, avoiding the lava.  I played this as a group game.  One group continued giving directions until they ran into lava and then the next group got a chance.

Also, pirate ship directions game I made for my summer camp.  Almost the same concept.  Students give directions to guide their ship from one spot on a map to the treasure, avoiding sea monsters, waves, rocks, etc.

I am teaching the cheonjae book too.  Gr 6 "where is the post office" has the exact same expressions.

(I also submitted a couple of items.)

Only some vocabulary words may need to be changed.  The expressions are the exact same and the ppts are reusable maybe some minor tweaks.

Someone posted a mario directions board game, but I decided to simplify it and make my own version based on that game to reduce the color printing and make it level appropriate for my class. The goal of the game is to collect the most stars. You can collect stars by landing on a star space. Students can move by picking up a directions card. They MUST follow the directions on that card. Here are the special squares explained:
  • Boo Ghost Block: Steal  a star from another player.
  • Bowser: Like jail, skip a turn.
  • Turtle: Lose a star.
  • Tunnels: transport to the other end of the tunnel.
  • Question block: Pick up a special card and follow instructions.
1 ppt slide is one set of cards per group (yes they are small again to minimize printing)
Feel free to change the directions cards to fit students' level.
