« on: March 04, 2019, 01:00:14 pm »
This lesson is similar to: 6. Go Straight and Turn Right from the 2015 book.
"The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword."

Review and scrambled word and sentence game.  Reworked from last year's old book.

Lava speaking game.  Students must guide the teacher from one spot on a map to another, avoiding the lava.  I played this as a group game.  One group continued giving directions until they ran into lava and then the next group got a chance.

Also, pirate ship directions game I made for my summer camp.  Almost the same concept.  Students give directions to guide their ship from one spot on a map to the treasure, avoiding sea monsters, waves, rocks, etc.

Just an introductory PPT from me for this lesson as I was able to utilize some of the previous books games with minimal changes. If I do make anything else for this lesson then I'll edit this post to add it as per usual.

All Periods Intro: Pretty self explanatory. (Ideal for all periods)
"Have you seen what the sith are wearing? It's like every fashion designer in the galaxy went over to the dark side."

--> Simon Says (Ideal for Period 1/2)
"Simon says turn right." - Students turn their bodies to face the right side of the classroom.
"Simon says turn left." - Students turn their bodies to face the left side of the classroom.
"Simon says go straight." Students face the front of the classroom.
*If you think your kids will be too rowdy, you can always do this with turning just their hands.*

--> Blindfolded Race (Ideal for Period 1/2)
This will be easier if you have your own classroom because you can move the desks before the kids come in, but if you go to their homeroom I would ask the teachers if it's okay to move the desks around and leave yourself time to setup.

I moved the desks around to form a map maze. Just think 5 x 5 square maze with obstacles that resemble dead ends. I split the class into two teams and one person from each team is blindfolded at their respective team sides. Their group mates have to give the blindfolded student directions to the "special prize" (I just used a soft die). First team to reach it gets a point and then it resets. This basically takes the whole class because I have about 25-30 kids per class and I wanted each student to get a chance. I also switched up some of the obstacles half way through.

No powerpoints for either, pretty straight forward directions. Let me know if you have any questions!

Teacher's been keeping us in this unit for a while.  Had to come up with some more ppt games.  Here is avengers pass the ball.  (I added a couple.  So, the slides work but the graphics aren't quite the same.  I'm an intermediate ppt user.  But, it will do the trick.)  One slide had a pic of me.  So, I removed it.  You can add something else and be creative.

Teacher still staying in this unit.  Actually many cancelled classes.  I took this poop game from the teacher's website.
