It shows you right there how much integrity EPIK has.

Absolutely shameful.

I would contact the owner of that photo & inform them (including the model) that their (and her) image are being used w/o their consent.

See how far that goes.

Maybe that guy complained about being used in the advertising and they had to change it.  Or maybe he was done for kiddy fiddling or something.

The stock image has been used literally everywhere.

All other sites however did NOT photoshop or change the picture.

What EPIK did was blatantly fake.

What EPIK did was blatantly fake.

A stock image or photo can usually be edited, as long as it falls within legal guidelines (ex: no pornography, not used for illegal activity, nothing that would place a stock model in a negative light, not used as part of merchandise meant for resale, etc.), and the image itself was not obtained illegally.

It also depends a lot on the license agreement of the stock image's source, but stock images are expected to be used for commercial purposes (usually as part of advertisement), so the agreement usually outlines typical restrictions like those I've listed above.

The line can get a bit blurred at times, but, as far as I can tell, EPIK falls within the line on this one.

This is why I have no qualms about quitting a job here mid-contract if something better comes along and I can get away with it.  They don't give a flying 747 fook about you.  Most secretly or openly despise you.

They hire women bc the men aren't intimidated by them and can get their lust on if they're good looking.  I'm 188cm and 100kg, 12%bf...  The men at my school despise me for no reason, while the women eye bang me and flirt when the men aren't around to witness it.  They don't want foreigners tainting the local women.  Haven't you heard that the majority of Korean men won't date a Korean women if she used to date a foreigner? I shower in the gym locker room and I've seen more baby pen*ses on the men here than I'd care to admit.  It makes a lot of the behavior I see from the local men against foreigners(or in general) make sense.

I was let go of from a hagwon chain, because the head office(not my branch) had decided to designate that branch as a "Koreans and gyopos only" branch. I got an extremely positive reference letter. I suggested to the director that I was being let go of because Koreans were cheaper to hire. She did not deny it.

This happened to me. It's not the end of the world Contact as many recruiters as possible. Leave your school on good terms. At least they are being honest. Get really nice looking letters of referance with the official school letterhead and stamp with fresh signiture. You will get through this.

In fairness, they weren't erect.  If they were while you were showing with them, you'd have to be really scared and make sure you didn't drop the soap.

Completely paranoid delusional using racial stereotypes.  I guess you didn't know that Korean men have married with non-Korean women by the hundreds of thousands bringing in wives from other countries.  Tainting the local women? What year are you living in? 1490?

well, this is just anecdotal, but my wife has a couple of friends who had once dated foreigners, and have since cut off contact with her, as they don't want their husbands to find out they once dated a foreigner.

LOL..  What stereotypes?  Those men marry non-Korean women bc they can't get Korean women like the old days.  Women here are more independent and would rather stay single than marry a poor Korean guy.  Is Korea living in 1490? Pretty much, certainly only 20 years ago they were but it's getting better.  They just recently stop teaching kids in PUBLIC SCHOOL about how Korean blood was pure and special!  Shit, they probably still teach it.  Just because Korea guys don't shout from the rooftops that a Korean woman is to be ostracised if they have previously dated a foreigner, doesn't mean that's not the sentiment.  Obviously, it's not 100% of men but it damn well may be 90%.  My Korean GF told me this and have heard from many other KOREAN sources.  Not some butthurt guy on waygook that's probably been in Korea for 6 months.

Sons were preferred over daughters.

Many female fetuses were aborted.

For every 10 female babies there were 12 male babies.

Now there's a huge shortage of women, hence the need to import brides.

A female Westerner who marries a Korean man might be applauded; for a Western male marrying a Korean female it might be the opposite.

It's only some Korean men who think this way (resenting foreign males dating Korean women), but certainly the situation is exacerbated by not enough women to go around.

Do you have any stats on that? This 2015 survey said 34.5 % of Koreans wouldn't want to live next door to a foreigner, so I'm thinking at least the same would disapprove of Korean women dating one.

I spent 7 years at a hagwon on Jeju Island and with yearly raises was making 0.5 million won more in base salary than newbies. Throw in my veteran OT hours and I was clearing a million over a couple of greenhorn lazy waygooks (they screamed entitled with their last-minute arrivals, break-extending NFL discussions and unwillingness to work Saturdays).

To our new director (who bought the biz 1.5 years before), cutting costs meant letting me go. He said at our last meeting that he thought I was the best teacher on Jeju Island. I was so pissed that I half-assed cleaned my apartment. (I feel somewhat bad about that now.) I am more than halfway through my second contract on the mainland, one of those new 2-year E-2 visas that robs one of the ol' yearly bonus between one year and the next. But I love my students, classroom, apartment and town, so I don't sweat the cheaper option I am, not requiring the traditionally expensive overseas hire that may not even last a whole year.

You can get a 2 year E2 Visa now?
