It is pretty pricey.  Plus, most of us foreigners come from cultures that don't place much of a premium on personal hygiene.  How many other cultures extol the virtues of a character named Pigpen to young and impressionable minds?  We were conditioned (no pun intended) to be stinkers.  I, personally, have made an effort to fit in by sharing pube scribbled bar soap with the other patrons of my gym, as well as dunking myself in the green tea and urine hot tubs at my local bath house.

At least I AM making an effort.  Don't know about the rest of these pigs.

Americans know how to use deodorant. Can't say the same for other Westerners. Meanwhile Koreans have garlic breath coming out of their pores.

Right. Some people who I have the displeasure of standing near on the subway reek so much of garlic it makes me almost gag. It's honestly eye-watering at times. I'm glad it isn't just me that thinks this

I mean, I probably have some weird scent they pick up on from me, but Jesus christ

The offensive BO smell is pretty much absent among Koreans. But they make up for that with some of the most savage death breath this side of Beijing. I was at a table with 3 Korean guys recently and faark me. Eye wateringly bad halitosis. Which is weird because it seems everyone is brushing their teeth every chance they get.

Another time recently i went into an office with a few guys working and they had the heat pumping. But the warm air mixed with a sealed office and 4 guys breathing produced a noxious stank that knocked me back out the door. Bad breath, middle aged man stink, little bit of kimchi, soju and cigarettes, all heated to 32 degrees in an airtight room. Grade 4 chemical weapon.

I don't know what you are talking about.

When I was a foreinger in Korea I always kept myself
clean. I came across a good number of Korean men who
never washed their hands after using the bathroom, and
a number of them who also smelled stinky. In Taiwan it
a number of them are worse.

I have met Filippino and Thai expats in Korea, and they
really know how to keep themselves very clean. You can
tell by the strong fragrance most of them wear. So OP, I
don't know how you could jump to such a conclusion about
foreingers smelling stink.

I'd rather smell BO that is natural than a medley of kimchi, onions, garlic, cigs, soju...  Plus 90% of the time I see Koreans leave a shitter without washing their hands.  So mix shit smell in the stew above.

Eat garlic everyday and every smell goes away.

One clove of garlic makes the world a happy place!

As many have said, there doesn't seem to be a point to this thread. The rant thread seems to be more appropriate place for this.

I am going to lock it. If anyone has a question, please PM me.

Thanks and have a good rest of your week everyone.

Koreans think Westerns smell and vice versa--lot of it depends how you grew up.  I ate Indian food one time and met my white gf afterwards who said I wreaked while her brown friend said she didn't smell anything.
